Embergen is one of the coolest vfx softwares out there right now. The same simulation would take many many hours in blender.

@ Yep Winbush has a great tutorial for OpenVDB. But the EmberGen fire does not work in UE5. I'll just wait till the OpenVDB plugin supports the EmberGen parameters for fire. Thank you for your "Embergen 0.75 Animated Meshes VDB To Blender tutorial." I enjoyed it!

but how to scale border box . bcz smoke collied with the box
@Anomaliayt5 ай бұрын
When I link my fbx geometry to emitter, it’s just a huge block of smoke. I can’t seem to resize anything :(( I can see the scale of the fbx animation and it’s fine, but as soon as link the emitter its just pure smoke filling 100% of the simulation area
5 ай бұрын
It's probably due to the simulation size being too small. If you press the simulation node in embergen you can adjust the xyz axis under the voxel count parameter. Hope this helps and good luck! :)

Here's a question, for far moving animations, such as a jet engine that curves, how do you extend your scene beyond the bounding box??
2 жыл бұрын
Good question! You can adjust the scale of the bounding box accordingly to the scale of your engine trail. You could also scala down the animated path and adjust all the physics setting so the simulation "looks" normal sized. The third alternative could be to have the engine static and key animate the force fields to emulate the look that the engines are actually following a path. Hope this helps!

wait... hold on. You didn't explain how to add the "simple volume shader!!" Don't leave me hangin', man!!
2 жыл бұрын
Sorry I forgot to include it in the video! Add a principled volume shader node in your smoke material. In the "temperature " input write "flames" instead. Then play around with the temperature value and density parameters to achieve the look your after. Make sure to switch to the cycles engine when working with VDB's to be able to see the volume! Good luck 😄👍

Hi, have you tried to experiment with the file size of the mesh? Sometimes you even need to increase it 10 to 100000x to see the mesh. Hope this helps! :)
@JeanYanb3 жыл бұрын
great vid! but what about the shading part?
3 жыл бұрын
I had to keep the video short due to lack of footage. After importing the vdb i added a volume shader in the shading tab (princible volume). To get a better result, try lowering the density to a value like 0.2-0.5. Hope this helps and stay tuned!
@flipnap21123 жыл бұрын
actually the shading part is the most important. this is why the sims in embergen look so good and why embergen is no nice. once you realize how many time you need to render passes to check the shading, it gets rough. of course if you have a shader you like to use all the time then its fine. but you need to use the principled volumetric shader in blender, and make sure to play with the temperature, flame, etc settings. theres a ton of tutorials about it. however, like I said, you would be much much better off learning to comp and bring things in and out embergen, for the lighting.
3 жыл бұрын
@@flipnap2112 well explained, I personally feel more comfertable tweaking the shading settings in blender.
@flipnap21123 жыл бұрын
@ yep just look up VDB shading in blender. but like I said, your shading in embergen is instant. I was tweaking VDB shaders in blender but can work 3 thousand times faster in embergen. you get instant results 60 times a second. and to be honest, the shading in embergen is insanely powerful. I no longer render VDB in blender. I do all my shading and sims in embergen and render with alphas for comp. . its super powerful and very pretty
