Eckhart Tolle is widely recognized as one of the most original and inspiring spiritual teachers of our time. He travels and teaches throughout the world.
Eckhart is not aligned with any particular religion or tradition, but excludes none. His profound yet simple and practical teachings have helped thousands of people find inner peace, healing and greater fulfillment in their lives. At the core of his teachings lies the transformation of individual and collective human consciousness - a global spiritual awakening.
Eckhart Tolle is the author of The Power of Now, a #1 New York Times Bestseller, which has been translated into 32 languages and become one of the most influential spiritual books of our time.
In his most recent book, A New Earth, he shows how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is not only essential to personal happiness, but also the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world.

I totally agree about this idea that most people mistake the method for the actual practice of being present as it relates to meditation. I never felt the need to meditate or to sit for that purpose because I am present in a noticing way most of the time. I let go of my judgments when I catch them and just proceed with the flow of things... It brings me much peace and a feeling of gratitude. The Universal Consciousness will always make sure that we are exactly where we need to be. In Lak'ech

When my brain stops ruminating about negative things in the past or future i feel peace. I just want to feel that feeling of peace and everything is right with the moment and theres no need for happiness or pain.

I want to say my story of my own personal Self discovery journey. In the midst of most darkest moments I was trying to trying to force myself to meditate, because I thought that that bring me closer to my true Self. But as I practise with determination each day to direct my attention into my inner body, how I feel each moment, practised gratitude each day and made it my daily practise - everything changed - I've had an inner deep feeling, understanding, somehow that somebody was telling me - you don't need meditation to be present and happy every moment, you are designed not to supposed to cling to any meditation practise, but be a living meditation, live, feel the presence. I was feeling an enormous joy at those moments, like not from this world. And when I was listening to Eckhart, it was resonating with my own experience, even though I didn't even heard of him.

Wonderful! We are to walk in a meditative state of living and awareness at all times and not only when we're meditating. Thank you Eckhart!

Very nicely put, in Buddhism they say that you have to overcome attachment to 3 fetters (roots) in order to achieve what they call 'stream entry' (i.e realisation of the truth and unwavering confidence in the practice). One such fetter is attachment to rights and rituals, which I found strange at first as there are a lot of these in Buddhism. You seem to explain well here how we should not be attached to the technique or the ritualistic means that support practice, but use them as tools.

I new to meditation. So I am using ocean sounds to become present... Like I play it on mp3 and lay down... And then I imagine myself amidst the beautiful sea, feeling the wind around my face... The water crashing around my body.... I see myself enjoying the scene standing there amidst dawn with arms open taking in the sea..... Is this what being present is or am I still lacking that skill?? Pleaae guide me??

XXX Thought is Precious XXX Thinking in it’s most part is Behavioral Activity. Behavioral Activity can be programmed. Using language as a mind software we permanently are repeating our desired goals through spoken words, just like a mantra. This way we are establishing a specific pattern of information and literally downloading as well as programming the subconscious mind, which in response will trigger the programmed action. Our subconscious mind works like a computer. It turns commands..
