I've done this with enameling with regular embossing pens and pads. I used a lot of my stamps or just frit on a design I drew and it always worked great. Glad to see somebody else doing that on there glass.

Thank you for so very generously sharing your research. I haven't tried embossing before but I feel a lot more confident adding it to my glass repertoire. I have had a project in mind that has been on hold until I could figure out how to draw crisp lines (my previous experiments weren't successful). So now I can go ahead with that project. Again, thanks for sharing all your hard work.

Thanks Jamaison for doing all the work for us. Great video. I am made some of my own stamps to use with the versa pad. Not sure if I should do capped or uncapped. I don't like the rough feeling of Mica when it is on the surface. Maybe my firing schedule? I was thinking of fusing two pieces of 3mm full fused, then adding the mica and putting in a slump schedule. Any thoughts?? Thanks! BTW, I'm a former Texas that hailed from SA.
@JamaisonSchuler Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure mica would ever be fully smith on the surface but maybe cap it with a bit of clear powder? Not sure a slump schedule would be enough to get the mica to fuse in? Run some experiments and see!

Hi Jamaison, I just love watching your videos. I am brand new to fusing, started in September. I have learned so much from your videos, so thank you for offering these for free. Question, I have so many. Anyway, I really like making landscape pieces. I am looking for a way to make tree branches. These powders seem to have promise for the smaller tree branches. I am wondering do you have any experience with modeling glass? This seems like it would work to make the tree trunks more organic with dimension. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Before I discovered fused glass I worked with paper, made cards etc. So I had played with the sticky pens and micas a lot. I make my tails on clear glass, two layers, that way I can try it on top of any color of glass to see how it shows. I also used a heat gun to dry the adhesive and powders so I could try adding a second coat.
