He at least is self aware that a few of the people like me found his channel through the ASMR rabbit hole. Even then, his videos are exactly like Bob Ross videos. They may be relaxing through his tone and demeanor but the content itself is just very interesting to watch and listen to.

Not to undermine the amazing skill involved but there are registration marks on the blocks which help you align everything.

I have to say Dave that it beggars the imagination to watch two different master craftsmen work at their art. I like the no narration video more than the narrated video, because I could concentrate better on the process itself. As I watched this amazing process I wondered if you had considered putting together a booklet with a page for each of the 17 different printing steps as they are done. This would give someone the ability to see how each of the different woodblock cuts merge with the printer’s art.

Hello! Love your videos so much! Always an amazing source of relaxing content that is always perfectly put together and the time and effort not only in the printing, but in the production, completely comes through in every video you make! 😄🎀 I am not sure where to submit suggestions so I will just post one here, have you ever thought of doing a Printing in Reverse? Perhaps showing why the order of the steps is so important, and kind of incoorporating a troubleshooting aspect into the video? I know April Fool's Day is just passed us, but I would love to see more content about why certain aspects like the key block with outlines must be done first, and examples of what happens if say its done last, or how varying amounts of pigment/paste/water will effect the overall print. I hope you have a good day , thank you for all the great content!! 😄🎀

Hey David! I've watched several of your videos but was still wondering about one thing. What keeps the paper from sagging/sinking into the lower parts of a carved block and unintentionally picking up pigment from those unintended portions? Especially when there is a small raised area in an otherwise large open space. How does the paper not also make contact with these lower carved-down regions? Thanks for all the great content!

Curiosity question David, when it comes to production is there a worry a panel may absorb too much moisture causing it to change the carving a bit?
@seseragistudio2 жыл бұрын
With the traditional 'solid wood' blocks, this happens every day. It's just part of the printer's job to make adjustments wherever possible, and is of course the main reason why so many of the old prints show so much bad registration. We long ago switched to bonding our cherry wood to a plywood inner core to help alleviate this as much as possible.

Couple of things I can comprehend. There doesn't seem to be any alignment guide, yet the results are perfect. The prints are placed directly into the plastic sleeve . ( The ink drys that fast ???)
