In the final battle, when the slots for Angeal, Cloud, & Aerith trigger, Aerith is in her prayer pose that the DMW uses - but when it fades out in the VERY end, she's in the pose Zack first saw her in when he opened his eyes in the church. Secret box contents were _perfect._

Again, and I blame Max here because he should know better - Cloud wasn't intentionally lying and I hate how he made it appear that way. Cloud's mind was totally f**ked up as a result of the experimentation for 4 yrs on him and the trauma of seeing the people he loved die i.e. Zack, his mom, Tifa badly injured and his hometown burnt to the ground. Perhaps it was meant as a joke, as I thought Max really liked Cloud, but imo this is why Cloud's character is often misinterpreted when 'influential people' like Max makes remarks like that and people believe it.

The amount of damage those helicopter missiles were doing was modified from the original PSP version. For CC Reunion they apparently made them do a percentage of your current or max HP, because in the PSP version you could extend that final battle a whole lot longer due to nothing being able to hurt you. This time around the devs were clearly taking into account how powerful you could be after doing the side missions.

The last line asking if he became a hero just kills me. Had my eyes welling up so much. It really has me excited to find out what they end up doing with zack in the remake. He may be my favorite character over cloud after beating the game, zack was just such a good hearted dude and got done so dirty just for trying to do the right things.

And not only that, he managed to surpass pretty much everyone in the FF7 universe in strength and skill, aside from Sephiroth, without becoming a monster. Cloud needed friends, and there's nothing wrong with that at all, but Zack fought alone and found his own strength.

Also in FF7 r he takes on many tough bosses on his own e.g. Rufus, Reno etc. As the writer of FF7 once remarked - Cloud had immeasurable potential . This young boy had everything taken from him literally, even 5 yrs of his life in Hojo's lab so he never had a chance to develop in his teenage years and this is why he's so socially awkward, Nomura who wrote FF7 also remarked on this and despite this, he still ends up the hero!!! Imo Cloud and Zack are both heroes!

@@darthcerebus It would make more sense for anything that has Zack being alive and differing from the original Timeline/story being something separate. Not everyone has played Crisis Core before, so they had little to no idea of who this black haired dude who looks like Cloud is nor that he actually died outside of some visions and small dialogue within Remake up until the reveal. Because of that, having Reunion change up Crisis Core at all in regards to sorry would only confuse many players. Give people time to digest Crisis Core as it is, and then bring in your DLC that ties into the Ending of Remake. Have the DLC either start right off at the battle that Zack originally dies in (giving clues perhaps through changes in the DMV first) or right before the battle to see little changes due to someone's manipulation. This battle could also include the Plot Ghosts where Zack has to fight them too. Defeating them and the forces against him both would tie in and make sense within how Remake went about things, and then promptly remove the Plot Ghosts in one go. Zack defeated his fate and the Ghosts are gone again.

@@darthcerebus I think the entire point is that FF7 Remake is a sequel to the original FF7 that takes place after Advent Children, with Sephiroth somehow trying to change the timeline. So Crisis Core would still have the same ending, being a prequel to FF7. So I think it would be Before Crisis > Crisis Core > FF7 > On the Way to a Smile > Advent Children > Dirge of Cerberus > FF7 Remake.

@@dobrozner7784 Not a bad theory, but I think its a "Trunks' Time Machine" situation. Sephiroth went back in time, but because changing things can't actually happen, he split the timeline into two. So we've got two realities; the spirits in Remake were trying to hold it together for some unknown reason (split timeline must be bad somehow) but he used Cloud and friends to kill them, freeing him to continue creating a separate timeline. First timeline still happened, but also there's this parallel one now.

Pretty sure square came out and said the reason cissnei had the "not by real name" line was because they tried to directly connect this game to before crisis, and in that game the player decides on what to call her, alluding to all the turk names in canon actually being proxy names to protect their real identities, which, given the nature of their jobs, makes sense I guess

Watching this after Max finished his Rebirth playthrough. Wondering if the point of Crisis Core Reunion was more than just talking about Zack. I think it was also to tell us more about Cloud and what is happening to him. The game has two things that I think are important. First, Modeoheim is where Zack first meets Cloud and gets the Buster Sword. It’s close to Icicle Area so I think this place could show up again. Secondly, the DMW is more than a mechanic. It deals with emotions and memories. There are scenes in the DMW that are not seen anywhere else except through the DMW. In Remake and Rebirth, Cloud often sees visions of things that happened, will happen, or did not happen in the original game. Cloud is experiencing DMW but because his mind is so fragile he is overwhelmed by the experience every time it happens. Additional prediction: Sephiroth has a black wing on his right side. Genesis has a black wing on his left side. Angeal has TWO white wings on his right side… but who has the left wing? I think Cloud and Zack will each get a left wing in Remake part 3 (OR) one of them will get both left wings. /remind me 3 years

I would incline to this theory you have, but funny enough, I'm not sure why Max trashed Genesis' obsession with Loveless all the way, if he is trying to deceive us because he knows its importance or truly hates it, lol, but that play seems to be like the ultimate guide to know what is happening and what will happen at the end of the series. One of the reasons why the last chapter is missing or... it is been written as the series goes on? Writers are going a lil' bit meta with all this, that's for sure. One thing to notice is that Loveless only talks about 3 heroes or children that are there to fulfill the goddess' desire, which so far seems to be these 3 children, Angeal, Genesis and Sephiroth, but it also could be about Zack, Cloud and Sephiroth. The shift point is, who's really the goddess we've been talking about, Aerith or Jenova? That being said, I think the whole plot spins around these 3 children and the choices they make, more than making pairs of their wings they have. STILL... I will remember your comment 3 years from now, because you might be onto something.

I wonder if Cloud having "the last pure S-Cells in the world" (aside from Sephiroth himself) is going to be relevant going forward in the remake. Would be strange if they just forgot about it. Also, I'm curious about what president Shinra said in the remake about SOLDIER showing cellular degradation, when in Crisis Core the whole point was that only G-type SOLDIERs did. Was it a retcon, or was he just lying to get in Cloud's head? Either way Cloud should be fine, since he's technically neither type of SOLDIER, and has Sephiroth's pure non-degrading cells instead. But of course president Shinra wouldn't know that.

After replaying this game I almost feel like Sephiroth was mocking Cloud with Zack in FF7 Remake. After the bombing mission and we Sephiroth he holds his left hand out and we see a close up like Cloud does to Zack here. He also tells him that he has to live like Zack telling him he is his living legacy. That might just be me though. *Thank you guys for the comments. I know it was Sephiroth mocking Cloud about his mom. It was just after playing Crisis Core and then replaying FF7R it made me think of it. Its why I said almost in there.

I don't think he was mocking Zack there. I forget where exactly this was stated, but I think Sephiroth is supposed to be quoting Cloud's mother's last words. She was basically begging Sephiroth to spare her son as he was running her through with his sword, and Cloud helplessly watched all of this. So the scene in chapter 2 was basically Sephiroth going. "Hey...remember that time I murdered your mom right in front of you? Ah...good times. 😈" Cloud doesn't remember anything about Zack in Remake, so even if Sephiroth tried to taunt him about Zack's death, Cloud wouldn't be able to react. The Jenova Cells would block out any memory of Zack's final moments.

Max's thoughts on how within a few Missions Zack becomes a damage god are interesting. I agree in part that things escalated incredibly quickly...but at the same time having watched his entire playthrough I think, in a way, Max earned it. The Minerva fight is really the best example of this. All of the comments were telling him he'd need to grind for X stat boost or go find Y materia and equipment. But, instead, he identified the one hurdle he faced (her Limit Break) and devised a plan to overcome it. It was that way throughout the game. While his Zack build ultimately became unstoppable within the main game, he got there by putting together a build using what he had available and executing. I was impressed by how good he got at the timing of the Jump attacks to avoid damage, as well as how he caught on to the patterns of the bosses to know when his damage window opened. Heck, he picked up on Minerva adding a fourth attack to her pattern and adjusted on the fly. Sure, he ultimately broke the game...but I feel like he earned it.

What happens with Genesis is the opposite of what people think When he got beated by Zack, he can only see the lifestream because he was going to die (therefore dissolving into thw lifestream) but since Minerva decided that Genesis had work to do as protector of the planet she dump him out of the lifestream to keep him alive

Yes because the end scene of Crisis core and CC Reunion follow DIRECTLY the beginning of FF7 Remake. But ! People have to realize that itns only when you beat FF7 Remake the very end that the ghost are nowhere to be found right now and....yes the end of Crisis core original could be changed...but not the original one. But if you think about it it s logical....Otherwise how Cloud could have the Buster Sword ? He couldn't. The thing that worried me is rather the ending scene of Intermission at the churtch. The french version is more precise i have noticed (i am native french smeaker). It dlesnt have a suggestion with the english "Aerith...?" But just "Aerith" and the tone used is clearly...not a guess or other. I really hope nothing bad happen to Aerith in Zack'..line. midgar see ghosts explose and vanish if you remember (Yuffie's lc Intermission i have just done the Hard mode with Nero) ...so things that was prevent before..are not . And when you know all the original entire story...huml you know how Aerith is important...it could explains why Sephiroth still want to defy destiny AFTER have beaten one of his clones... Even the smallest ones as some npc dialogue...or things (Don corneo' arena is a direct easter egg and thing for future Golden Saucer...for..Rebirth no more no less and yet wkth MUCH bigger things to do and enjoy ^^ i can imagine By example if you remember remake in chapter 17 do you remember when you see Sephiroth before faling in what scalled the drum? Tifa notice Semhiroth ONLY when she touch Cloud's arm .. And a very nice touch : itns his left arm. The one who will have geostigmate in..Advent children (2 years after FF7 Original end). His future illness. I am pretty sure that a choice a true one should be made....and a awful one.... Sephi love to play with Cloud mind but i dont think he lied about the clock of the apocalypse ("7 secondes until the end") It s a direct reference.
