My wife is starting to offer film in her wedding package, and I have had the joy of showing her how to load/shoot film. It's brought me back to your channel, which has reminded me how much I enjoy hearing you speak about film. Keep up the amazing work Matt!

I keep leaving the relationship of Polaroid. Then I miss the abusive relationship of that film and come back. Then the cycle begins again. I’m currently being abused.

Depends on which camera. This 500 one that he has works better today after the new firmware update a few days ago. The SX-70 style, the SLR680/690 and the square box LMS have been the better cameras. The Now+ horrible

@zetaphotography6548 I'm just speaking of the film in general. Plenty of great reliable old new stock cameras to find out there from the original polaroid company.

I understand not wanting to say a video is sponsored by Polaroid early on, but I feel like that’s an important thing to get out of the way early as opposed to the last few seconds.

At the very beginning of the video, in the top left corner it states that the video is/has a paid promotion included

@@kaii2172 true. Though that tag also applies to most videos that have a generic sponsor like squarespace or keh. Whereas this entire video was Polaroid sponsored and about Polaroid product, it seemed more appropriate to say as much earlier. I know it’s just splitting hairs, not trying to drum up controversy I just see it as an issue a lot with KZbin. Matt’s cool.

@@MrBenjy2006 if I can chime in this with all respect . There’s honestly things that go on behind the scenes that a lot of people may not see or are aware of. For example a creative director may not like something that was said in a segment of a video a want I completely removed. Those types of things are completely out of your control. ❤

Since the firmware update a couple of weeks ago, the Polaroid I-2 is amazing.

I am definitely trying to embrace imperfectionism with Polaroid as well. It is not easy to, but understanding that that's the very nature of Polaroid has helped me embrace the idea that not every frame needs to be or will be perfect!

Thanks a lot, Matt, for putting so many core things in easy words. I've joined the Instant (and primarily Polaroid) train two years ago, first with gorgeous MiNT 670 cameras, and lately also with the i-2. Still gotta get used to the latter, but AF can be such a boon. As to me, I'm also drawn to special editions, with nothing to best the Reclaimed Blue 600 for me so far - that would be one for Polaroid to really turn into a permanent film stock. There's a reason why Cyanotype has so many friends, and I feel that the Reclaimed Blue is/was the closest anyone ever got to it outside of Cyanotype itself.

My preferred term for the results my I-2 produces (I love the camera and its results!) is serendipity. Oxford Dictionary defines serendipity thus: “the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way. ‘a fortunate stroke of serendipity’ " Each I-2 Polaroid is a serendipitous event ❤.

Great video and I was able to shoot some B&W 600 Film Monochrome Frames on September 1st. Just great they turned out nice and using the Polaroid I-2. I mostly shoot on Auto Mode the most with the I-2.

As you know, we both go way back with TIP and Polaroid. I've always said Polaroid emulsions are an Active Participant in the creation of frames for me. I have the vision, I have an understanding of the film and what it can do, what my SX-70 can do, and I work inside those constraints, and still the emulsion adds something else. There aren't very many photography mediums that can say that. It doesn't change my overall vision of my work, but man, my Polaroids are usually the ones I look back on and say: "That...That is what I'm trying to say in photography".

would like to see the polaroid i2 tested with identical shots against a regular polaroid 660/670 AF camera. Interesting to see the picture differences, if any.

That right there are some great polaroids 😍looks so sharp with the new film and the i-2! I get that this is a polaroid sponsored video but whats your experience with instax film? I had an old polaroid 600 camera but the film was so expensive, then started looking at instax and looked like it shot sharper/better photos than polaroid and also like half of the price, so bought a lomoinstant wide! Maybe not the sharpest of them but i like how it looks and more functions than fuji instax.
