Working Aussies Homestead

Күн бұрын

Managing livestock on a homestead or small farm can be an exciting and energizing endeavor, although there are moments when it can certainly take a toll on one's emotions. Upon deciding to introduce three new sheep to our homestead, we were aware that one of our original animals would need to be sent to the processor. We anticipated that this transition, with the sheep providing meat for both our family and a local one, would be smoother, understanding that ultimately, he would fulfill his intended purpose. However, guilt soon overwhelmed us.
Dealing with the guilt stemming from circumstances beyond our control is always challenging, even when we have diligently followed all the correct procedures.
We hope you enjoy this one!

I respect the feeling bad. I felt bad when we took it super mean ram. Loving it livestock is what makes us and our animals different than the commercial industry. Knowing where our food comes from is so lost on the vast majority of people.
