This video was such a blessing to me tonight. I was feeling down because of health issues, and to see your lovely smiling faces, and hear of your joys and thankfulness for your lovely garden lifted my spirits. Esther is such a lovely young lady, and I love her relationship with you, Carrie. It's a beautiful thing for a mother and daughter to be friends. It shows. Bless you, precious Smythe family xoxoxo Laurie

I like to chop green pepper, onion, carrot, and celery into really fine chop and freeze them together. Then when I start a meal I just throw a handful into the bottom of my cast iron pan to season the oil and bonus they are so small my adult kid and grandkids that won't eat veggies eat them with put knowing it. Win win.

I am in Wisconsin zone 4b and my little box garden was mostly sorrowful. We had too much rain and too early of heat. My root veg rotted or split, my peas got a fungus, my tomatoes have blight, something ate the leaves off the bottom 2/3 of my peppers, those japanese beetles are having a heyday and we had a bunch of bunnies munching on all my flowers and chipmunks digging up my flower roots. I did spray the pole beans and salvaged them. The joy is my tea and herb beds. Plentiful and looking forward to using my dried herbs and teas all winter long, and we have a loooong winter up here. Thanks for sharing your beautiful gardens.

If you like stuffed bell peppers; I halve mine, clean out the seeds, and freeze them on a cookie sheet. When they're solidly frozen; I put them into freezer bags. They sort of cup into each other, so a lot will fit into a bag. Since they were originally frozen separately, they'll stay separate. Sometimes, I'll add the filling and freeze them that way also.

Such a lovely episode guys! Your garden is looking lovely and it sounds like it has been a really productive year. Your banana spiders look a lot like what we call golden orbs here in Australia, though they might be an entirely different species; my spider knowledge isn't amazing! We are coming into spring and our veggie garden was looking wonderful but one of our goats got in. Was a shame but oh well, he will make a good, nourishing curry at least. We were hoping to get a fence up for our main crop area before now for all the big sprawling plants like pumpkins, cucumbers, melons, etc., but we didn't manage it, and I seem to have been filling up beds with flowers in the meantime. Whoops! But they are so beautiful. xx

1 frog or toad can eat up to 100 squash bugs, caterpillars, vine borers etc in one night ,imagine if you had a child's paddling pool with a few small Rocks in it inside your squash patch and in spring you went pond dipping and brought home a jar of tadpoles or frog spawn .your very own bug defence system and they eat a whole list of other pests too but don't harm your plants

I slice peppers and freeze for future fajitas, stuffed pepper soup, and omelets. I have to put small cages (actually wire trash cans from dollar tree) over my strawberry plants to keep the squirrels from eating them. Maybe Josh could build some tall cylinders with chicken wire to go over those green beans to keep the muscovy away. Best of luck! God bless.

Could you make a video about it, it's a very interesting topic. I wish you a nice day and good luck..😄

Good questions. They don't have a problem walking barefoot now that they are older. Our oldest has always preferred to wear shoes. They don't (usually) purposefully walk in mud or manure. They wear boots for jobs like mucking the barn and moving manure compost piles. I don't know if I will be able to make a video about the topic, but thanks for your interest. Blessings.

I looked up information on clipping wings .The advice is clip one wing of each duck but only the primary feathers to destabilise them making it impossible to fly .ducks must be 15 weeks of age before you do this and never clip secondary feathers these are for insulation and are necessary to the ducks .
