I like how you ironed it down first and then cut it away by securing it to the fabric. I've done this and I didn't iron it down I ironed it later but I think it looks better that you iron it down first before the final stitches. I also learned that you could tear the glitter away instead of having to cut it, but you're actually cutting the fabric also with the glitter. Great job. I Will try it but with tear away stabilizer instead of water soluble.

May I ask why use the twill at all?
@SouthernAudacity Жыл бұрын
It's just a sturdy background. I have used cotton broad cloth if ironing onto shirts that I didn't want too much weight on. But if you mean why twill and not just the glitter, the vinyl alone cannot support the stitching.

Hi, could you have used spray adhesive instead of ironing the glitter down?
@SouthernAudacity Жыл бұрын
Because it was heat transfer vinyl, I ironed. But if using a fabric that didn't have a adhesive backing, spray adhesive could be used. But with heat transfer vinyl, you want to iron it down.

@SouthernAudacity Жыл бұрын
For this, I used fonts that were purchased at designs by Juju. You can use fonts from many different shops. I used Sew What Pro to merge the letters and order the colors (steps so it would stitch in the order I needed. Embrilliance Essentials is even easier since BX fonts can be used and you type out the letter instead of searching for them.
