Embroidered Mixed Media Portrait on Exchanged Background

Welcome back to another episode of the #3girlsand12faces collaboration! 🎨💕 This time, I had the pleasure of working on Marie's beautifully vibrant background. I started with a light wash of gesso, just enough to soften the base colors, and then sketched a face on top. Instead of painting it fully, I focused on the eyes, nose, and mouth with light paint application.
The real highlight of this piece is the embroidery! Using different colors of embroidery floss, I stitched around the face and hair outlines, adding a textural element. The result is a blend of mixed media and hand-stitched details, creating a unique and tactile piece.
