I’ve got all the Tilda fabrics and I’m ready to go. Do you have tips on how to safely transport the laid out panel to the ironing board without shifting the pieces? ❤

Is it ok to fuse a large piece of fabric in the areas where there is a large number of background squares or is it best to cut into individual squares?
@carmengeddes51535 ай бұрын
Good question! If you put a large piece of fabric down, you still have to sew through that both ways, which would add a lot of bulk. So I stick to all squares!

Thanks so much for the reply, I’m just about to cut out this quilt and one video on KZbin suggested fusing down large blocks of background, so glad to hear of this before I get started. I was a bit skeptical of using large blocks so your answer is much appreciated!

Do you use 1/4” seams or scant 1/4” seams? I have a kit for the fabrics but have to get the grids. This was an excellent video for me to finally understand how the grid works.
@TensistersTVShow Жыл бұрын
Hi Donna. We don't print the seam allowance on the grid panels, because you get to choose your own 1/4" . Scant or full, it doesn't matter as long as it's consistent! Thanks for watching.😀

@@TensistersTVShow thank you for the reply. That makes sense. I’ll order the grids for my embroidered flowers quilt kit and give them a try!

How do you suggest doing the backing? As suggested by Tildasworld , I bought 2 yards of two different fabrics plus the pieced strip in the back, equalling 90” with salvage and it’s not long enough or wide enough for the Longarmer, 4” all around. My top ended up being 70x90.5

It's amazing how a quilt can be bigger with the slightest difference in seam allowance width. Your only option is to make your back bigger with more fabric. My suggestion would be to insert a strip horizontally and vertically--not on the ends but inside the quilt back. I think it would be more pleasing to the eye!

What fabric line are you using ? I'm thinking I want to use Kona Cotton
@TensistersTVShow Жыл бұрын
Hi Charline. Thanks for watching! I used a mostly Cherrywood hand dyed. A Kaufman woven for the background. Kona Cottons would be so beautiful!

So how many panels do we need total to make this quilt
@TensistersTVShow Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Ashley. It takes 18 panels of EasyPiecing Grid. We sell packs of 20. If you check the links below the video, the sizing chart gives you lots of info to help you decide what size you want to make!

When sewing, do you need to start at opposite ends so it won’t bend like jelly rolls? Or does it matter?
@TensistersTVShow Жыл бұрын
Good question Donn. It doesn't matter because it's all stabilized with the EasyPiecing foundation! Thanks for watching 😀

I agree! If you search for #embroideryflowerquilt on Facebook or Instagram you'll see many examples of using prints.
