From a beginner to seasoned quilter, anyone can make a traditional quilt, in a non-traditional way! Easy! Fast! Fun with EasyPiecing Grid!
STEP BY STEP:
1. Cut out squares; make half square triangles (1.5", 2", or 2.5" cut)
2. EasyPiecing Grid FUSIBLE SIDE UP!
3. Follow layout in book or pattern and place squares on Grid
4. Press!
5. Fold right sides together- sew seams in one direction
6. Clip and press seam allowances
7. Right sides together-- sew seams in opposite direction

Excellent video! One could also fuse that small section of interfacing by turning the panel over, so the fabric right side is down, fusing just that little piece onto one side, easier to see the lines. And then turn it over and fuse the other panel as you described. I’m trying to work with this grid stuff and learning the best techniques. You nailed it!

I’m anxious to try this method. Hoping other videos show the technique more. Also, there’s too much hand movement in this one. If you could demonstrate the grid technique without so much hand movement it would help. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s dizzying!

OMG! I was at the Sewing Expo today! Stopped by your booth and fell in love with this concept. Picked up the spool pattern, can’t wait to get started. The Demo was so cute and energetic. Glad I stopped by😁

Thank you so much. I have been struggling to consistently sew my tiny scraps and this technique is genius. Straight lines, equal spacing, it does it al.

i LOVE this - my mistake, doing one that isn't on there and making block by block and finishing each block and THEN trying to put them together. I have about 5 squares and I guess I am going to now make them into pillows. I have trouble piecing them together after they are sewn. I'll be watching for the next video

I just put together my first spool using different blue blocks. Oh my Gosh. I stopped by your booth at the Atlanta Quilting Expo and I was blown away by this method. I am an intermediate quilter and have tried lots of methods to make blocks next perfectly. This one is a winner. I will do a large quilt next using one of your patterns and panels from your shop. I loved your booth and your constant teaching at your booth. I brought ladies over just to hear you demonstrate how this all works. Thank you so much Carmen. You are so gifted.

Thanks for watching Heidi! I really thought about that while developing our grid, but it came down to ease of pressing to get a really great quilt top. I use steam! But we do pay extra for a product that is lightweight, yet strong.

hi! I looooove your product but i loooove to handquilt! how are the panels for hand quilting through?
@TensistersTVShow
@TensistersTVShow 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Amanda! Yes, I've had some good feedback for handquilting-- a few tips: use steam when pressing seams, spray quilt top back with water and tumble in the dryer for 10-15 minutes, or wash the quilt top. The foundation just gets softer and softer. Doesn't ball up or wash away. Hope that helps!

I purchased some 2.5" squares from my quilt shop, washed and dried them and had a mess. The squares were not square anymore due to shrinkage! How do you treat the squares? If not prewashed, does the finished product turn out unevenly?

Hi Ruth, Thanks for watching. What is the name of your quilt shop and where is it located? The grid should NOT be pre-washed. Feel free to call anytime. My husband Patrick's # is (801)358-9767 and we can talk about your experience.

Hi Sue-Thanks for watching! Each panel is 9 x 14 squares; 1",1.5", and 2 inch finished. So the first quilt I show is 1.5" finished, and the panel at the end of video is 2' finished.
