I wrote this at the height of a strict lockdown in Ireland. I was living by myself not really seeing anyone. The song is definitely written from the perspective of being lonely and missing the people you love.

I don't even want to imagine that. Being alone from time to time is nice, but completely alone, even through measures that could have been avoided, is tough. I have a romantic and at the same time frightening picture in front of my eyes, but (thank God) I cannot empathize with it because I did not experience it that way. The feeling is conveyed by your song and with that you seem to be able to detach yourself from it a little and process it better. When you deal with everything in life like this, I am happy about the cool things in your life, like the birth of your own children or something. Man this song is something more to me. I spent the last couple years chasing the women of my dreams 1500 miles away. I loved her unlike anything I thought was possible. I would just wait for the moment I could book the next flight. It felt like ages. Nothing seemed to let me get to her….but when I finally did it was pure happiness with not a care in the world. Truly nothing ever matched the level of happiness I felt with that woman. Her big brown eyes and contagious smile…. But time took it’s toll and I ended up making mistakes. I failed her.
