When I was a little girl in the fifties I loved the steam trains and I traveled on many. I remember the big engines were like huge animals, alive, huffing and puffing as they rested in the station waiting to get going. Traveling from Sydney Australia to Nowra from our liner that transported our family from England, we were on a dear little train pulled by a small engine. We called a"puffing billy"and it at a real cute little whistle as it clacked us into the countryside that was much less populated than it today. I sure would enjoy having afternoon tea on that pristine train you were on.

That looked like such a lovely way to spend an afternoon. The first time we took my son on a steam train, he was fast asleep in his pushchair when the train pulled in. He was so excited he held his breath and forgot to breathe! Your nieces are so pretty and well mannered , they always look so well turned out- love their dresses!

I was so happy to see this vlog… been waiting for this… I would love to do something like this… I think we have a dining train but it doesn’t do an afternoon tea and no way does it have that kind of scenery …. I loved it… made me so relaxed watching I almost fell to sleep 😂… the girls are becoming such beauties 🥰…. I know there’s a whole big old thing about whether you’re supposed to put the cream first on the scone or the jam first… I don’t know exactly why it is the way it is but I will tell you that I put jam on first but the reason I put jam on first is because it stays on there better… If you put it on top of the cream it just kind of runs off… So even though I don’t know the reason why you guys do it that’s my reason LOLlove you guys♥️♥️

You can travel on the Jacobite stream train from Fort William to Mallaig which goes over the Glenfinnan viaduct where they filmed the train going over the bridge in the Harry Potter movies you have to book your tickets well in advance to get the first class compartments and runs Monday to Friday and runs from 26th April to 29th October

The train trip did look like a great deal of fun, and the food looked quite tasty as well. I don’t think we have anything quite like that in the US now, though I know of mystery trains where everyone plays a role playing game and actors guide everyone through the story. I think those might even involve a meal. Anyway, it looks like a perfect thing to have taken the girls on.
