Agreed! The fun thing about Lanolin is that she works with so many characters, and it's fun to see her paired with anyone for any reason. She shares Tangle and Whisper's heroism, Jewel's hard work, and Shadow's love of coffee- though characters that contrast her a lot are also interesting with her. She's one of my favorite characters lmao

At first I was incredulous but the more I think about this the more sense it makes. Someone(s) long ago uncovered coffee, its properties and refined its cultivation and processing for generations. That craft was passed down and possibly deeply integrated into their folklore. Who knows how far back and deep the nuances of crafting coffee go? Mass production and capitalization have made this information something obscure unless you go out of your way to learn it. It's easier to go along with the idea that coffee is just an easily accessible drug to improve your productivity than to even consider that there's much, much more to it. Can't believe that a Sonic comic has thrown me into this mess of a rabbit hole.

They made everyone look kind of dumb, but lanolin is less developed and still kind of fresh. Worse yet, she’s a team leader, so her involvement in the brain rot was always gonna be the worst of it.

I remember watching this a while back, such a nice little comic, it's quite evident how different Adam's version of Lanolin is to the IDW's version, although to be fair the canon Lanolin has been all over the place because of the writing. The only thing I didn't really like was Adam making Shadow kinda stupid but it's a minor thing.

I feel like it's less that Lanolin is different and more like we haven't really gotten more than brief glimpses at any given time. And whenever we do it's usually exploring her flaws rather than other aspects about her. Heck even during the Eggperial City arc which is her debut as a major character she gets shelved almost immediately alongside Whisper.

@anthonyrodriguez8788 I say her writing's all over the place mainly due to how she was made to act during the introduction of Duo, as much as she learned during the Eggperial City Arc she still knew that she had a lot to learn, when Duo and Silver join the Diamond Cutters she was made more "bossy" I guess you could say and more judgemental, it was a change too abrupt in my opinion, and in the latest Arc her getting mad at the Phantom Rider for little more than disturbing the peace just feels like an exaggeration to me.

I like to personally think Rouge and Sonic would approach them differently, Rouge would like to meet up with Lanolin and ask about her and Shadow, while Lanolin would simply reply that whatever her relationship with Shadow is private and completely professional despite evidence to the contrary. Sonic in the mean time comes up to Shadow to ask about him and Lanolin and Shadow just tells him no before Sonic could even finish his sentence
