14:50 The manual recommends disengaging the lead screw when your not using it, I have no clue why they did that and its the only machine I've heard of doing it.

I just did the same thing to mine what a pain. Yes that was a disengage slide, leave it disengaged when you don't need it (ie cutting threads). If you need parts iwasamiller is a seller on ebay. GarE is a great great guy and he is selling super 11 parts now 6/10/17.The back screws on the slide adjust play. I have all the manuals if you need copies. Be sure and get good way oil for it. Get rid of the compound and make a solid blok for the tool post and get a quick change setup. There is a whole quadrant and gear set to let you do many more metric threads. Also an FB2 mill head attachment.

Is the problem with the feed shaft not turning or not being able to engage the drive in the apron? Or, is the issue with not being able to move the lever to engage the feed? I had problems with the lever for the feed not wanting to pull out and then move - mine had problems until I got in there and was able to get everything lubricated and freed up. Also, if the lever for the half nut is not in the right spot, you can't engage the auto feed.

i may not explain clearly.engage works good. when it engaged. it will not run. the Hexagonal stick stopped.if i turn the feeding wheel,it will go with me. if i don't push any power. it stopped. this only happens whenfeeding closeto the chuck direction. reverse works. same situation happens in cross feeding some times. what would be the problem? gear damage or something stuck between?

If the Hexagon drive shaft is stopping (and it depends on feed direction), the first place I would look would be the change gears on the end of the headstock - remove the cover and observe if the input to the quick change gear box is being driven properly. If the gears are not adjusted for just a little backlash or if they are loose on the mounts, then you could get erratic operation. This seems most likely to me. It should be easy to observe if the drive shaft coming out of the head stock is turning and if the input to the quick change gear box is turning. If it appears that the input to the quick change gear box is being driven and turning, the other likely possibility is the clutch assembly on the feed drive (inside the round housing on the hex shaft) is slipping. If it is slipping, the round clutch housing will be turning but the shaft will not. Narrowing down what is / is not turning will tell us a lot.

Consider posting a short video of the change gears on the end of the lathe and the clutch on the hex drive shaft as you engage / disengage the auto feed.

the round clutch housing turning. but the shaft not. if i turn a little feeding wheel, or turn the Hexagon drive shaft, then it will move. but move for a while, it stoped again.

It appears to be between the quick change gear box and the lathe bed. But, at the moment, the gearbox is overfilled (came that way - that wasn't my fault - for a change :- ) ) and I am going to wait to see if it stops leaking when the level gets down to "normal". Thank you for the offer of a manual - but I did finally find it in another lab on campus.

James Kerns I let mine drop below the sight glass midline and it's still leaking; may tear into it next weekend. if you have any other documentation gaps do let me know, I've managed to collect quite a few obscure titles from Emco...
