Great Video. I just got an old maximat7 but can't find any manuals online. the lathe comes with a set of gears but I'm not sure how to use it. Can you help?

I am considering bidding on a maximal 7 at an upcoming auction. This would be my first lathe but want to make sure it has similar capabilities as an atlas 6 inch lathe. Is this machine comparable? Great video. Thank you. Brent

The belt size for the Maximat 7 is "optibelt -ZR 190LR .062". Optibelt does have a USA website. optibelt.com Do you have the 7, V10 or other lathe.

After having bought that exact machine, and having had a look at the timing belt, i discovered a little shop here in Bonn Germany with a Optibelt sign in the window, never was aware of that althoughi had passed it by bike hundrets of times ... I walked in , asked for the belt, the lady measured the width and told me this will take 5 minutes, because she would go down to the cellar and cut the belt from bulk. She charged me less than 5 bucks then. I was very pleased that such shops still exist !

Hi Gerald, Nice lathe and in great condition. I want to know if this machine would work well to cut bar stock pieces that around 3 inches in diameter by 3 inches or less? Would be used for stainless,aluminum , mild steel and some sorts of acrylics. Not a lot of shaping.

The Maximat 7 has a swing over the bed of 7 inches, over the cross-slide of 4 1/8 inches. The distance between centers is 18 inches. It can cut all metals you listed plus cast iron and others plus plastics with the correct cutting tools. The diameter of cut would depend on the chuck size used to hold the work. Between centers it can handle 3 inches plus since it has speeds as low 65 rpm.

could you please tell me what the drive belt is ? I have this exact lathe and I am restoring it I also have the milling attachment on mine as well which I am told are very hard to find, but my drive belt is missing and I can't find one anywhere and mostly because I have no numbers or info on the belt, any help you could give would be greatly\ appreciated.Nice video by the way.I am now a subscriber.

Boa noite, tenho um torno desse tá faltando engrenagens na caixa, tem como vc me mandar o diâmetro das engrenagens e o número de dentes que vai dentro da caixa que vai a placa, ei mando fotos amanhã
