I can totally see a double meaning here. I get the drug thing but I can also see it being about a relationship gone wrong. There are soo many dead beat dads out there and so many women hungry for love that they settle for ANY kind of love because it's better than no love at all. But thankfully we can find unconditional love with our heavenly Father, because God says that 'He will never leave us nor forsake us'! And that is something that every woman and person should understand. Nothing that this world has to offer can fill the void that only He can fill, and "Nothing can separate us from His love". You are an amazing artist Emeli, I like your class, depth of your lyrics and your angelic voice. Keep singing!!!
@SR-vq4wy10 жыл бұрын
Does heavenly Father holds you when you're down, kisses you when happy, makes love with you? Just saying that that kind of love is not a replacement for women - man love.

Mary Lee what if you're gay?? Cause sometimes.... I really like rainbows
@aliciaa40006 жыл бұрын
I'm confused by your questions. And this was a year ago and you probably don't care but...1.God loves all of his children, no matter what sexuality you are. He does not love you any less because you are gay, or bisexual, or any other sexuality other than heterosexual. In my opinion, I do not see homosexuality as a sin, but many Christians/Believers do. To those people, I say ''Everybody is a sinner. We have all sinned greatly, as a group. In God's eyes, all sin is equal. (understandably, murder and lying are two very different things and the consequences of both sins are massively different but to God sin is sin.) In God's eyes, we have all sinned. You can not judge a person by which sin they have committed, that is hypocrisy and the bible says itself that God detests hypocrisy. By being homophobic, you are sinning. So lol stop please''. But please don't be disheartened by this, because we have been forgiven! And Jesus has died to save us from ourselves! To save us from sin! And total condemnation! He has freed us! 2. God fulfils and satisfies you in ways you may not understand yet. He cannot satisfy the sin of the flesh (at least I think that's what its called lmao idk). He cannot fulfil your lustful desires in the form of sex, but Mary Lee never mentioned sex. God's love is something beautifully perplexing. We will never understand God's love for us, because it is so complex. He is so complex. He tells you himself in the bible that you will never understand his ways. To feel God's love is to truly live, and not only in the physical realm but in the spiritual sense as well. God's love fills you up with joy, happiness and satisfaction. It is truly amazing. God's love is better than any kind of sex you could ever experience I guarantee you.

You do realise God isn't all loving right? You clearly know nothing about Christianity, it's a much more hateful and brutal religion that you're letting on, what you class as a sin or how you want to see 'god' has nothing to do with the truth of it. Believe whatever you want and I'm glad if you find comfort in religion but don't lie, wither it's because you're misinformed or just stupid isn't the point.
@jasstranders75255 жыл бұрын
Aimee_B X Actually god is all loving and i know that you will say “ then why is there sin??” Because this world is corrupted god didn’t create sin or suffering but because we have free will we are free to make that choice because the most loving thing he can do is to give us freedom to make our own choices, if he did give us a choice or freedom people will moan that they don’t have a choice however people are still moaning when they are given a choice. I know what suffering is like first hand my dad was very abusive to my mum and i have very bad trauma from that ,I’ve had 9 years of counselling and I’m only 16 yet god has been there through out and without him I wouldn’t be here today I have seen demons and angels and so I know that god is loving even tho sometimes it hurts but I know he’s there he doesn’t want to see you hurt so he wants to help you but if you have a barrier between him and you blocking the relationship Jesus died to have with you then you won’t feel the love and the affection he has for you so I hope you find it, as he has a plan for you and wants to help you

Judy Capistrant people that have an addiction don't need prayers they need professional help,the altering mechanisms that coincide with substances abuse wont create a rationale.So Ari its important to show love and support most importantly,but that alone cant help,it does facilitate the process of rehabilitation but the best advice is to seek a counsellor that can help both your father and the family because it has obviously affected everyone !

this is about drugs when she finally quit she got her family back and she got her pretty smile back. She promised her sister that she would never do drugs again. Her friends keep telling her stuff that would persuade her to do drugs and she realised that she could never do drugs again. then she started acting like she wanted drugs again after that she ended up takin them again and almost forgot how it felt to take drugs she thought the drugs would help her and keep her stable and even though she didnt want to take them she never said no

This song is about using drugs or alcohol to help you get over a guy. "Daddy" refers to something that takes care of you, makes you feel better, forget your troubles. Its about when you find out someone doesn't love you back, they weren't who you expected, you're feeling incredibly lonely & hurt, & you would do anything to feel better/just stop feeling anything at all. "It can be your daddy, if you take it gladly" means that if you drink it, smoke it, whatever, you will at least forget.
