Honestly I feel like that's a once in a lifetime offer because when the Z06 releases or whatever newer platforms yours will still be like "in" but the price won't be "in" if that makes sense. Although you have just gotten started and cracked the surface with the C8 I feel like it would be a smart move to ditch it focus on the Lambo etc to give your channel new/different content and then if you really start to miss the C8 you can get the newer one or a Z06 or move to something else that may come out within the next few years. I wouldn't solely keep the car just because of the views or because people are curious about it, most of us are here just to watch you do whatever it may be and not here just for the car itself. Plus if you move to another C8 down the line mods/tuning etc will more than likely be much more well off and easy for you to do what you need to do to get in the low 1/4's. Just my two cents, regardless we will still be here thumbs upping haha.

Yes, it's a used car, but its a "built car" that's setup for the track (all safety equipment, etc..). If it was my car I would keep it and continue to break records and get clicks with it. I've sold so many cars that I now wish I didn't. Years later, I'm just kicking myself for selling them.

So she really has way less than 150k in it. Plus, mods don’t really increase the value of the car. In many cases they can actually lower the value. You almost never get your money back on mods. She only is because it’s a semi famous car holding a world record. But it won’t hold that record forever and this guy may lose interest as soon as another car catches his eye. She’s not going to get another offer like this. This guy is a rare bird. It’s a once in a lifetime offer. She needs to take it.

When it comes to depreciating assets like cars, sentimental value is the wrong reason to not sell for an excellent offer. You had the car now for 15 months and got a lot of use and fun from it. You made a lot money off it from the content to you created. $180k is an insane offer. I'd take it in a New York second! Sell it and have Chevy Dude lock you to order a Z06 when they come available. At least you know you'll only have to pay MSRP through his dealership. Meanwhile use your time to get your race car built.

My opinion, as soon as another car passes that record and you can't finally afford to keep up pushing its limits, it'll lose that value. Right now it's an opportunity to gain profit and essentially get paid 30k for having fun in a c8. That's the 458 you said you always wanted plus change.The only attachments and reason not to sell is purely sentimental. But as I said, that's my opinion. Ultimately only you can decide what's right for you. There's very few opportunities within the automotive hobby to even break even, let alone profit.

Exactly gravy. The only reason prices are inflated right now so high is because of covid shutting down production so much. Supply is low so even crap cars are up 50%. Once factories are back to normal these prices will drop too. And then that 180k offer might be gone, and she'll be lucky to even break even. It's basic supply and demand. You heard him say in the video "C8s are getting 110-120k right now" thats double the factory price because supply is low. As soon as everything settles that boosted value will plummet.

@@ssoffshore5111 Correct, there are the few Vipers from one builder having about 3000 HP engines, and such is done with LT1 too [see Tom's white 2019, just finished RMRW again, winner 5/8 race weeks, consistently in 7's w/ Meth]. European "Super Cars: including Lamborghini, Porsche, Audi [R8], Ferrari, McClaren, etc., similarly the Japanese GT-R, R38 except a race version and none of them are that reliable for a daily, except maybe an R8 GT-R, R38, but may still need a secondary, additional car when they do need repair. Kyle's AMS modified R8 did 200 MPH in 1/2 mile, but is not that fast in the 1/8, 1/4 mile; high 9's, slower than this C8 does w/TT and the other TT C8 with FuelTech, clutches with a similar dynamo-meter HP, but slower still though getting close. They also reach higher top speed in the 1/4 and faster 60 ft., 330 ft., 600 ft. times and speed. The C8 platform can do it too, if and when all the parts with more complete controller are available or developed. Clearly GM, Chevrolet has done it with the C8-R they race GT-LM, though, their speeds, acceleration, for their track use is among the best with BMW, Porsche, etc. However, not used for drag racing. Do have an opinion for Emelia to consider too, which involves some possible steps, selling and another project, perhaps continuing with another similar C8 and/or wait for the ZR1 and step it up too. Not to be rude, but it’s been hacked with multiple stand alone and fo units to make the car do what it does. It this point a true stand alone ECM is why it needs. All said and done, it’s a BASE MODEL C8. It just came out, in another year they be below 100k and hers ( if she doesn’t crash it ) won’t be fetching 180k offers. You can’t turn up line pressure in the trans be use it’s untunable just like the motor. It’s all maxed out and on its second motor and soon to be second set of clutches in 1,000 miles. Take the offer and run

As a buyer and seller, As well as a shop owner: there's a time to keep, and a time to sell. I have a dozen vehicles I own outright. Emelia, take this one as a time to actually profit, and invest into another one that's identical. I've done that three times. Same make, model, year. I have a certain color and style I love, so when I want to make profit, I sell the current one, and grab another one. Remember, it's a machine. I have to remind myself of this about once a week. Sentiment is more visual in a lot of cases

And despite dude's breakdown of $120/hr labor, above, Emilia has sponsors and makes good YT money. She can take the cash profit, which if you think, is well above the perceived 30k, once you factor in YT and sponsor money, and either find another, and do a build similar, or roll that money in to the Ferrari or Lambo. Either way, she really can't lose keeping it or selling it.

Don’t do it for 180K. Remember as with everything in life “he who names price first loses”. That 180k is just the starting point. You counter with 205k and then accept his counter offer of 195K. Then order a 2022 Z06 when and if they are available in the fall. And start the built out all over again on the better platform.

She isnt going to sell it. It isn't just a car it is a dream manifested in to reality. That car has done so much for your channel. That being said, if they really want it take 220k. 30k isnt close to the labor cost and heartbreak selling it. Chevy has productions issue these will continue to be hard to get for at least 2 more years. You will never have a hard time selling it if you ever decide to. You never what you get what you put into those cars. She's lucky the market is the way that is. Without any of the issues from covid or inflation that car would be worth 80-100k on a good day. Take that money and work on another and grow your channel even more. Get a supercar, who knows, but don't hold back. Right now the dollar is about as strong as our "leader". Weaker even considering he's printing billions just like his former boss did and that is what tanked our economy in the first place. The buyer isn't stupid and as said watches her videos... he knows exactly what it's worth and is already offering quite a high number because he knows that she needs an incentive because she loves the C8 and will not easily part with it. Also she doesn't have to replace the clutch, that saves her a couple of grand... tldr: all things considered 180k is a very good offer.

On one hand when the automotive market levels out the vette will be worth a lot less than that offer, but on the other hand it is obvious you love the car. Really it just comes down to what is best for you and the channel. You could do a lot with 180 grand as far as providing content for the channel. If it were me and knowing the limitations you will run into eventually with the C8 platform I would dump it now. The car is going to be worth half of that offer in a years time.
