This is a true hidden gem interview. Anybody doing research on modern gay history. Looking up directors interviews, early day gay channels, gay activism, gay quotes. You've hit the motherlode!

During the early to mid 1970s, HIV infections was already occurring in the United States (i.e. New York and California). Filmaker Arthur J. Bressan Jr., in this interview, died of AIDS-related complications on July 29, 1987 at the age of 44, meaning that he was most likely infected with HIV around the time of this interview in 1977.

Thank you for sharing this. I’ve been trying to find Bressan’s 1985 film Buddies (the first theatrical film to deal with AIDS) for ages.

I don’t think you need a disclaimer to watch a film. Or you don’t need to justify your motivation. I enjoyed the movie. Bros and I’m straiter then straight I’d like to see this documentary as a historical document.

At 8:32 I'm loving the host's shirt collars. I remember wearing those. Also love the ads especially the one for Billy the Kid in Jackson Heights. Been there.

Slight problem - Arthur had a relationship with a 14 year old boy…hid him from his parents … today we would call that molestation and kidnapping…no bueno

@@nannersguyaners2745 he passed away from AIDS in 1987. These archived episodes in the 1970s is somewhat tragic. Not only was 85% of those in these episodes died of AIDS-related compilations in the 1980s and 1990s, but at least 50% were infected with HIV during the interviews in 1970s. In fact, one would think that the late Harvey Milk would have most likely because HIV positive.
@nannersguyaners2745Ай бұрын
@@Mr.Majestic77 yeah ok - I know that and you’re not telling me anythg @ Harvey Milk that I haven’t already thought of - none of that changes the fact that Arthur Bressan engaged in what we all thk is child molestation - and came on this tv show and basically said as much unchallenged. Listen I’m as big an LGBTQ ally as there is - but he was wrong to do this and it was a crime that shld have been prosecuted

@@nannersguyaners2745 Isn't the LGBTQ network the sister network of those NAMBLA and NAWGLA networks? Unfortunately, it has been documented that both NAMBLA and NAWGLA marched with the then LGBT back in the 1970s.
