Ugh, I wish I could agree but I can't see myself spending that on this particular kit. I feel buying a quality kit that has that buttery soft canvas along with a beautiful tray from a maker, custom made pen and scented putty would still run me cheaper than this. Maybe if the tweezers and trays at least looked a little less cheap I can give it a nod. 😔😮😢

The price point is definitely high. In my opinion, they cheaped out in a couple places, which would have made this a definite yes. The cheap pens are a hard no...they should have included at least one acrylic pen and the fact they didn't put the legend on the jars (or at least a sticker version) was a disappointment. If they are going to go to the length they did to justify the price, they should have went the extra steps. It was exciting seeing the gold box and having it all kit up, but for that price, it needed a little more. Thank you so much for sharing!

Wow! Thank you for sharing the contents of this kit. I’m so curious about the quality and the ease of application of the mini drills. It certainly is a giftable presentation, but it would be huge on my table. I’m so on the fence… I do love it when companies continue to innovate for our craft. It’s going to be a stunning project!

I think the way they've presented the drills wastes so much space and would be functionally not really usable. If I could, I'd prefer to order the kit with all the special drills and the micro drills, but not pre-kitted up. Let me choose my own kit option, plus that's got to save on shipping costs and box size.

For me , I think it is worth it. I love the packaging, and all the special drills. And the smaller drills is like stitching 1 over 1 on faces such as what you were referring to on cross stitch. I am really excited that you did this for us. Maybe I see one in my future 😂❤

I have been eyeing The Kiss by Diamond Dotz ever since I saw an Instagram creator do it last year. I thought it was beautiful, but didn't like that the faces were not drills. I LOVE this and took the plunge and ordered it. Merry Christmas to me. I am a sucker for special drills and this painting is loaded with them! I think this is really cool but I wouldn't pay that much. I already feel that the diamond dotz paintings are over priced and only purchase them on sale. I've found cheaper alternatives that I feel is just as good quality

It's beautiful but nope I can't justify the cost..all kits have to come with drills ..and just because they are in small plastic containers doesn't even equal the cost of just buying your own containers...I will take drills in bags and do it myself.😅 even special drills...it's gonna come with the kit if it's part of the design anyway...I would end up tossing the large box and the foam...and all my stuff in a small Zipp case ..sorry...but I would pay a bit more for the size of the canvas..

I love it and I think getting a large canvas, in what looks to be a reusable box (reusable within reason), with a container set already kitted out, is worth the price point. On top of that, they have the micro drills, which are new and impressive. I had to immediately check out their website to see what they had and they are offering some magnificent horses; it would be hard to choose. Having said that, I don't think I could afford it as I am on a limited budget. It is a luxury item, but they really deliver! Thank you for sharing 🌼.

I admire them for innovation, but a few things let it down for me. One is the horrible multiplacerers. A high end offering should at least have the thin ones. Also the straighteners. Either provide a metal one, or leave them out. It is good that they have changed the canvas for a softer one. I'm not a fan of training wheels either, especially given they are calling this advance level kits. In saying that the different sized drills are intriguing, and all the special drills look great, as does the rendering.

I got one as well! My box arrived damaged though, with micro drills everywhere. They gave me a 50% refund. For me, these are far cheaper than DAC or Dreamer - Canadians pay a lot :(

Interesting... I looked on their site... price was $199. No where could I find that it was in US or CAD.... so I'm assuming it was US dollars. The most I've paid in CAD with DAC was $100. Your 50% refund might have made it worthwhile.

Oh no! A 50% refund is ridiculous. The kit is unusable if the drills fell out. They should have sent a new kit. So sorry. I just ordered one. I hope this doesn't happen or I will be very upset.

I think it's a fun idea, but I don't see myself buying one. They're just too pricey, and I don't care for the way you're kind of forced to pour drills, then put them back, then pour again. I keep all my drills in trays, ready to go.

The small drills for detail are cool, but I feel like they're charging at least an extra $100 for it being kitted up and all the extra packaging. I'd rather buy it with the traditional packaging. All I would need is a pen for the smaller drills.

Katie’s kit had the old polyester canvas which I hate. Does the box say it’s a different canvas? Because on Katie’s box it said polyester. I wouldn’t buy it if they didn’t upgrade the canvas.

I was so curious about these. I wondered why the price. That's a no for me. The tools are basic. The pre kitted drills seem great but what a wonky set up. Id rather get 2 DAC for that price. They could have upgraded the kit better pens better trays.

Wow. I'm not a DD fan, but that kit looks very cool. $179 is expensive, but makes sense if I were to buy all of the extra bling separate. I've been eyeing this picture in general as I am obsessed after seeing the movie The Lady in Gold. I was going to do a cross stitch conversion since I have the pattern, but may need to go for this.

I thought the packaging was cool... I don't like the image personally so I wouldn't have bothered but I don't think it's worth it. I personally feel like the diamond painting kit makers take advantage of us that do the diamond paintings and have the cost of these items too high based on what I know it costs to produce the items. for example, it probably cost them $30-$50 to make this and put it all together and then they charged $179.. but I would like to see how it looks finished.

I haven’t worked with any Diamond Dotz kits yet. Do they provide a paper symbol key or sticker legend to be able to label the jars with the symbols, or do you have to go by the legend on the canvas? Very interesting concept. This particular piece is definitely one specifically that is benefited by the idea of the mini dots in the face/skin tones where details are lost in larger drills, and there are a LOT of special drills!

I'm also wondering about the sticker legend and mini diamonds for the face, I wonder if they provide a smaller tip for application? I've been a strict DAC only girlie, but this one really interests me, Klimt's The Kiss is a top fave panting of mine :)

No they didn’t unfortunately! I did make a copy of the legend on the canvas but I’m definitely going to give them the feedback that they need sticker sheets or even just a paper legend

@@EmeraldsandFairyLights oof yeah, one of the reasons I love DAC cuz those little stickers are fantastic and make it so much easier then trying to label yourself. They could provide a PDF online so people can print out the legends, if they aren’t gonna include them in the kit.

If you dont have a huge budget to spend on this, I can really see the price point being a huge turn off. I simply don't have that much money to spend on each month on luxurious company brand paintings like diamond art club, etc. This would be one of those "only buy once a year during black friday" type of purchases for me. Not all of us can do almost $200 because sometimes thats your budget and you need to spread it out and get more than one to last you longer. this may be a no for me even though it is pretty cool idea.

I love the presentation of this. The box is elegant. I really like the idea of the mini drills to fill in the faces. I don't care for partial with the faces printed only. Thanks for going the extra mile and getting this. The price is above what I can afford. If it is something spectacular that someone loves, I can see making the purchase.

Hubby is already questioning my sanity with my new collection of accessories from all the small shops. (How many trays/pens do you need?) At first it seems like that’s a lot of money but then I was thinking about how much I’ve spent on enhancement drill sets for other regular canvases and it really adds up quick. Plus no kit up hassle? I would give it a try. I like that painting, but like you do not care for the partial drill aspect of the other version so I’ve never got it.

I love this painting and the kit looks so luxurious! Wish I could afford it! I’ve just purchased 2 kits on DAC, 1 large and 1 more medium-ish that I’m so excited for. I hope you have fun doing this kit! It’s so nice that it’s all kitted up for you and you can start right away! I say this about all kits but I wish they came with paddy wax and putty. I feel bad for people trying to use that sad red or blue wax that comes with the kits lol. And for the price it should come with the good stuff in my opinion!

First, I had to get the BBB involved after I ordered from Diamond Dotz. While I love this piece and I want one really, really bad, I won't order unless I get it from a reputable business. The Kiss is my number one piece of art. I have a quilted piece I have created hanging on my wall. This company, or their reps who sell for them, are sketchy. Be aware.

I think I would buy this canvas with these drills even if they were in bags, but have no interest in all the extra tools and packaging that would be tossed after the painting is finished. I have my own system that I’ve figured out over the years that is efficient and this would slow me down. The pre-kitting up is nice, but I’d prefer my own labeling system.

I dont like different drill shapes. i love the idea of smaller drills to get more detail but I dont like bigger different shaped pieces in my diamond paintings. To me it cheapens the look of it. And I definitely would not pay over $100 for a kit. After you are done with the project, what is the point of the box, the fancy pens, the plastic circle containers? They either go into someones huge junk closet or room, or they get thrown away. Also, the fact that they use a different color palet makes it LESS appealing for me because I cannot use their diamonds for other projects. I find that sometimes I have had to dip into past projects to get more diamonds so that definitely is a turn off. So this would be a hard pass for me. But thanks for the video. I enjoyed watching it, glad it was your dime and not mine, LOL.

This is STUNNING and MOST definitely worth it! This IS and will be a piece of art when done! That is the ONLY Klimt i have ever loved. I have done it in a full size cross stitch and it went to my ex's mother! NOW THAT WAS THE BIGGEST mistake EVER! lol. I LOVED this.....cannot wait to see it when it is started. To get rid of the static use a fabric softener sheet just cut it as wide as the cup and shake it inside of the cup. Put the rest of the sheet in a zip-lock bag for use on other drills. Just fold it real small to fit in one of the bags that came with a kit. The sheet has to be new not used.

I can't wait to see the completed canvas. I thought I was finished buying until the first of the year, but this is tempting. I love the artwork and all of the special drills. Also, if you purchase enhancements for a kit, it starts getting expensive. Plus, having it kitted up for you is helpful. Try having a humidifier in the room when you open up the containers.

I like DD rounds a lot, and I've been happy with some of the DD kits I've done, but I wish they would sell these without the whole kit-up service. Maybe they thought the mini-dots necessitated it-I don't know-but the price point is too high. It's all around a little too much. I have a feeling that they won't move enough of these, so I hope that, if there's a next time (and I hope there is), the new releases might have some standard-packed options-maybe. That said, I don't doubt that the finish on these will look amazing, and I look forward to seeing this one done! I do love the mini-dots innovation; I was thinking for a long time that they should have these because of cross-stitch.

Honestly, the premium kit is lovely to look at but I would not purchase one this expensive. I love kitting up so it takes that experience away from me and I have to say that no bottle labels is a big miss. I can see it will be fun for you to work on and you love the image so have a blast with it.

I think it wwould be worth it if it was a diamond art club that I know that I love there drills and canvas. I have not been a fan of diamond dots art that they brought out but I love the idea that its already put together and you can just go, because kitting up still takes me hours.

Yes they are referred to by many things, basically they are resin poured shapes faceted to look like diamonds in round or square. They are sometimes referred to as rhinestones, diamonds, or stones but most commonly drills. 😊

First, thanks for showing this. For me, it's not worth the very high price. But let me explain why... There's a lot of "useless to me" stuff in there. I don't need any more trays. I don't need any more pens/tweezers/multi-tools etc. The ONLY thing I would really be "excited" about is the painting itself (it looks gorgeous, if you are into that kind of art), and the drills. The fact that the drills are already in "reuseable" pots that are already numbered is a huge plus, but only in a convenience kind of way. I really don't mind opening and sorting and "kitting up" pre-painting work. I would pay "top dollar" for just the painting and the drills ($70'ish) because it's high quality and we already know the DD drills are fantastic. So, that would leave me with $110'ish dollars worth of a wooden box with some tools in it that I already have plenty of.

I live in Australia and if I buy from DAC or Dreamer designs the average large size canvases are $150 😬 postage is $30 to Aus! The cheaper one I bought from DAC was $108

I enjoyed your excitement of the unboxing! I would consider this as a great gift to someone who has an extended hospital stay or for a craft to take on vacation. I loved how everything is in all one place and all kitted up. As a pereson who has shaky hands, it would be worth it for that task to be already done. That box is amazing :) 179$ isnt so bad. If you were to kit up a cross stitch projext, youd be cloae to that if not over. And cross stitch will take you years to finish

Stick a cotton tip in alcohol and twirl in the jar. Not super saturated (a little goes a long way) and for long term use a small ball of tin foil and it will restating long term

That is a very nice canvas and with all those different drills its goingto look magical. Do I think its worth it?absoluetlye yes as a special gift or a one off picture. This is a take your time and enjoy it kit. The pacakaging is also top notich but maybe a special drill tray and limited ed luxury pen and tweezers set would have been the vherry on the top of the cake. would a buy from this range? yes, would I buy this or any of the others in the range? no, the Klimt is probably the nicest of them all, but its not my cup of tea.Hopefully they will introduce other more vibrant images ,

sorry l wouldn't pay that much unless it is a Josephine Wall's picture, it would cost that much to have it sent from Germany to Canada, that is including the exchange rate from Euro's to Canadian dollars

Idk 175 is a lot it does come with special drills but remember drills are just plastic at the end of the day.

I think that is absolutely freaking amazing! To have everything come the way it did is wondrous. I love the way everything is kitted up. And even the way the canvas is in that special bag. I absolutely love the box. If you had to add up the price of the canvas, all the special drills, and the storage container for your drills, it would probably cost the same as what you spent on that one. I would definitely buy it. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.❤😊❤

Certainly not a painting i like, but the price seems reasonable. Lots of work goes into the kits.
