Poor Sam! Seeing you in so much pain made me cry! Several years ago I hurt my back after an MRI the doctor said have a bulging disc. It doesn’t always bother me but when It does I am in so much pain I can’t move I have muscle spasms. I know how you feel Sam. My Sister and I said a prayer for you and will continue to pray for you. Praying for you Sam! Same happened to my hubby. The chiropractors are not trained correctly, they tend to make issues worse…. Here in Australia anyway. Finally found a great physio and after a few months of strength building he was all good. I know might not help but just feeling your pain! Also add he had no need for pain meds which can also make things worse in the long run! Love you guys xx

I'm going through something similar to Sam right now, and I was just recently diagnosed with spinal stenosis, and osteoarthritis from my S1 to L4 area. I was told that it can be caused by playing sports as a child, repetitive movement & heavy lifting, injury or trauma like from a previous car accident... Doc said that, and I was like "Great! So I pretty much messed my back up by just living life?" 🤦‍♀️ I hope Sam gets to feeling better soon. My doc prescribed Celebrex and suggested using a recumbent bike, and doing other low impact exercises like swimming, or yoga. The Celebrex and exercises seem to be working pretty good, but if I have a day where I skip either, I have pain shooting down my left leg, and I can't sit down at all. Oddly enough, staying on my feet is more tolerable, it's the sitting down (bending at the hip) and getting back up that causes the most pain.

Unfortunately the ER’s are so busy at this time. I work in EMS and we keep having to put people in wheelchairs in the lobby. If the patient needs a bed because they can’t sit we wait for a bed for 2-3+ hours. The other day we literally had to wait outside the hospital in the ambulance bay for 3 hours. The hospital didn’t allow us inside because the patient had COVID 🙄. You can always call a private EMS company and set up transports for appointments. AMR does that in AZ and some wheelchair vans do appointments too

I am so sorry you are going through this. I went through practically the same thing back in April and it was awful! So much pain. After a heavy steroid pack, muscle relaxers and strong pain med plus about a week of bed rest I finally felt relief and am back to normal. I hope your pain gets better and it doesn't end up being anything serious. Sending thoughts and prayers.

Sam I had the exact pain you are having. The most excruciating pain of my life and I have given birth without anesthesia too. I spent a few days in the hospital having an MRI and seeing an Ortho specialist. The final diagnosis and I'm not sure you could really call it that but they said I had Meralgia Parasethica of the Femoral Nerve. They gave me nerve shots in the hip and it was fine for a few months but came roaring back with a vengeance so I had the shots again and it worked. This was 10 yrs ago and every once in a while I still get those shooting shocks that feel like a hot knife is cutting into my leg. I totally feel for you because I would not wish that pain on anyone.

I doubt you will see this message but i have had the same pain as Sam… Ruptured disc with bad sciatic pain down into my foot. I originally tried the steroid shots, they did not work for me but that is your first and best choice. Physical therapy did nothing but make it worse. I got a Discectomy to repair my L5 S1 3 years ago. I am now going through the same pain but worse and they want to do another discectomy… They told me three strikes and you’re out the final third surgery if this one won’t work is a fusion. My mother has had a fusion and said it is a very painful and long recovery but she has never had the pain again. Tell him to call around and ask specialist for opinions before making a final decision on surgery. Recovery is rough only because they cut through muscle but it did relieve my pain for two years.

I know your pain Sam. 3 years ago I was so "smart" to carry 3 heavy shopping bags in 1 hand. I've done it few times and 1 morning I woke up in such a pain in my back then going down too my hip and leg. It was a nightmare especially that I was home alone with 2 kids, no close family and my husband working away. I went to doctor and he said that everything is ok with my back. Something with my nerves from carrying too heavy items. He gave me painkillers and some gently exercises and slowly after few weeks it stops. Hope you feel better soon.

You can get a bed, our ERs are just always packed. (Nothing to do with Covid. )You have to wait your turn to be seen. Once you are seen they will see if you need to be admitted , tests or sent home.

Sam I'm praying hard for your healing! I truly understand what you are going through. It's possible my husband has a torn rotator cuff and can't do many of the things he wants to do. A few weeks back I had complications from a colonoscopy and ended up with bilateral corneal abrasions. Couldn't see and was in severe pain for the better part of a week. Heal fast!! ❤️❤️❤️

The hot tub might help with some of the pain if Sam can get in and out of it. If he were to get right in front of one of the jets and use it to massage his lower back and the hot water might help soothe the pain.

I went to bed one night with pins and needles in my legs and flu symptoms. Also major lower back pain. Woke up at 1am in major back pain, couldn’t feel my legs or anything from the waist down. Turns out an abscess had formed at T12 in my spine and burst in the night. Over 7 years later I’ve never walked again. Spent 20 months in hospital and rehabilitation. Make the most of life people. You never know what can change in the blink of an eye.

They said that because the hospitals in Texas are OVERRUN with COVID patients. This vlog is the perfect example of why EVERYONE needs to take COVID seriously and get vaccinated and mask. Unfortunately these things are not happening in Texas and many other states. They can’t see patients with other ER needs.

Sounds like your L4L5 disk,,,same pain i have and i had to have a Spinal Fusion surgery to get a synthetic disk put in...and screws put in to hold it in place. Prayers you feel better Sam.

I can literally feel your excruciating pain! I've been dealing with the same for over a year. Only difference is my left leg us paralyzed from polio so I can't get any help from it and the debilitating pain in my right leg since I fell on the cement floor in the garage has been a challenge to diagnose after being to three to four different doctors. They too want to give me a injection in my lower spine, but I have to lay on my stomach which is impossible for me to do. So I continue to pray to the Lord to heal me and I hope it happens soon. I really wonder if you injured yourself when you were helping your brother move and foolishly jumped off the balcony unto that couch. Have you considered that? Nonetheless I will keep you in my prayers for healing from our Precious Lord Jesus Christ. God Bless all of you.

Sounds like a trapped nerve to me, I used to get it all the time, its a terrible pain, I still get it from time to time, but I take gabapentin which helps reduce nerve pain, been on them for many years now, have damaged discs and scoliosis too, been this way 20 odd years now, feel better soon bud.

Isn’t moving supposed to make it some what better over time? Yes you get flare ups every now and then but laying down and staying there can really affect healing
