Question im new I bout a uv5r from Amazon and it says uv5r 8w did I get scammed, is it fake. Also for the radio it does not have the threads and it screw in the antenna how to fix...

This is new, I recommend visiting the store at Radioddity contact them and ask if they have the models with removable antennas. OR better yet go to Tidradio and pick up an H3 GMRS its on sale NOW! They radio you got can test between 4 and 9 watts from what Ive seen. I find that the BAOFENGS while useful and cheap for say security detail the H3 is a MUCH better radio in every way.

Hello! Happy Holidays! Hey I wanted to tell you a HACK that most folks do not realize! The rubber rings that you see marketed as a solution for UV 5 R’s and other Chinese Radios is nothing more than an O-ring that you can buy at any autoparts store. In fact you can buy 100 of them for the $7-10 these crafty preppers are charging for one! They usually come in a kit of several different sizes! All my radios have them installed and they Great!
