I had the service side blow out on me once. I took the service glad hand off, stuck a quarter between the glad hands, and put it back on the trailer. Used the Jake to stop the truck and downshifted all the way to 2 nd gear. Got her home safely. Lol

Take the cage bolts off the chambers and put them with your tools. When you need them they are clean and ready. Things don't always break on dry sunny days. Oh, when the rod breaks inside the can that's pretty cool .
@scottpearsontoolsmore1856 жыл бұрын
Great video thanks brother. The socket and wratchet saves the hand to. Padded gloves are good with the wrench help save the hands. Sometimes it feels like it takes forever to get it caged. Thanks again keep up the great work see you in the next video
@KoonTrucking6 жыл бұрын
Scott Pearson yeah I just bought a set of those mechanics gloves with the padding on the back. They seemed pretty sweet. I can see how they will save your hands.

Tried caging the booster, but I couldn’t put it in the hole coz the spring inside was broken, and was in the way. In that case what shall I do to cage this thing. Thanks

my luck is that it fails because of rust. when i try to cage the spring brake the can crushes in on itself....oh the fun of trucks that run in the beautiful ohio road salt!

What if the caging bolt doesn't.turn .. after you put it in?
@KoonTrucking6 жыл бұрын
Thank you Allah I haven’t ever seen that ? If you line the T portion of the caging bolt up and give it a quarter turn it should pull the spring back inside it ? I’ve never had one that was froze up ? I guess it’s possible the spring could be bad or broken if so you would need to change the entire chamber out with a new one.

What if the brake can came off the brake chamber what do you do
@martymc925 жыл бұрын
I had the emergency line broke in one left from chamber , the t bolts were so rusted that I was not able to removed them. I used a lot of zip ties to clamp the emergency line so it would not leak. I took the emergency line out of the right chamber connected to the left chamber and unadjusted the brakes all the way up. Then I reconnected the right chamber and I was able to get out of the road. I just drove to the next truck stop and bought a new brake hose , replace it , adjust the brakes and hit the road again.

Must be very nice weather were you are cause up here in Canada you would never get the cage bolt out with the salt, snow, mud and ice it locks the bolt in the pot tighter then a nuns corset you would bust the pot before you would ever get the bolt out with a hammer it's funny what steel and aluminum does together
@KoonTrucking6 жыл бұрын

Emergency repairs should not be shown on a bench because we don't have emergency repairs that we do on a bench
@KoonTrucking2 жыл бұрын
You realize we have to film to show how it’s done right? You realize how hard it is to get the camera and lighting needed to film right? So sorry this disappointed you for the “realistic effect” but we are teaching the proper and safe way to do the repair. Just film yourself doing one on the side of the road the next time it happens but make sure it’s clear so people don’t complain about it and send me the link and I can take this one down 🙄
