These three are like a little family. We have grumpy old Dad (Mike) and a sibling rivalry with the two kids (Dan and Jenna). The chemistry is beautiful. My entire family and most of my friends run on snark! As for the firing of Dorsey, it had to be done. The offense is way too predictable. A couple of weeks ago they quickened the pace with the hurry up offense. I've heard that the players love it and the defense doesn't get to make substitutions as easily. Every time they employ the hurry up offense they take off and score. Against Cincinnati they opened with it and then they stopped using it until the fourth quarter. When they started using it again they scored quickly. So, where was it last night? I wanted Dorsey gone last year. McD is doing a good job with what he has to work with on defense due to the injuries but it's taking his time away from what is going on on the field when the offense is out there. Why didn't they just hire a defensive coordinator when Leslie Frazier quit last year? As for twelve men on the field during the field goal.....that was a failure all the way around. Whatever player, on the field, that is responsible for doing the count fell down on the job and the coaches evidently weren't paying attention. End result.....the Bills beat themselves all by themselves last night. Next season we have to start out with a new offensive coordinator and a new defensive coordinator. This team has been giving my ulcers since I started following them 50 years ago.

Dan - the bills need to establish a running game to open up the passing game! If every team knows the bills aren’t a threat to run, then great - they rush can rush 4 every snap, take a gash every once in a while, and cover 3-4 receiver packages with 7 guys in the secondary and no shot for the boys to get open. No run game is a scheme issue and needs to be fixed, and having some open receivers will BUILD Josh’s confidence!

I do agree with you but there have been times when there was people wide open and Josh didn't throw to them. Josh needs to take some heat for how he has been playing. Same with our recievers dropping balls when they're targeted.

Great show, solid episode. Look, here's the BUFFALO issue in a nutshell: "Afraid to Win". It's pretty much been this way from jump. Let's not go back to the old days, rather keep it in the JA17 era. The have been who for lack of better term, gathered the parts they needed, with the budget they had, on paper looks good, but like time and time again, they are flat out afraid to drop the hammer, throw the knock out, not in "a game", but as a "mindset". Josh is a gourment chef, and you have the hostess having him make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for dinner. Josh is not lost, he's been reprogrammed to be afaid (to win). Kind of like a lion, in the wild, put into a cage and spoon feed meals ... Just let the big dog eat, throw, run, crash, hurdle ... play his game. Firing Dorsey, okaym, that's like trying to lose weight and ordering a diet coke with your burger and fries, but, I guess it's a start. You want to win it all, stop being afraid of it. Yea, sort of. My take on this is they're saying "lets see how coach X works for the team. Let's see how coach Y works." Like a trial period before the next season starts and you're committed to another Dorsey. Plus the fact that currently, IMO, it can't be worse. Any new coach that fills the shoes there will NOT be scouted by future teams we play. Has to be VERY difficult to game plan for. So...again, IMO it has to be a positive thing here. But sure, the season is over and we all know that.

So here are my thoughts, 1) Teams, analysts and players have all said in the last year plus that the Bills have been more than predictable on offense, that stems from one place during that time, Dan Orlovsky said it himself, 2) Joe Brady was on a lot of teams radar to become an OC. I think that the Bills realized that they may have the solution in house, and that they needed to jump on it and fire Dorsey to promote Joe Brady before someone else did. 3) Yes, Josh was instrumental in Dorsey becoming the OC, but I am sure that even he would admit that being predictable isn't good. He had even said in recent interviews that they were trying to run the plays that they were given. Honestly, This is the start of a solution, but I am missing the passion for the game and winning. I swear if I here complimentary football one more time my brain will explode. There has to be some expression of emotion by the players and coaches. They cannot keep that crap bottled up. It will choke them out. Josh is elite, McD is the coach that has gotten us to the playoffs. Can both improve, yes, absolutely, but they are the plan for now. Moving forward, Sean needs to promote Brady permanently, if he can right the offense and then find another proven DC so that he can get back to managing the team and not focusing on the defense. Delegation works if you have the right people to delegate the work to.

I’m not super old but I was there for the 4 super bowls before that was Joe Ferguson. Joe was a very good qb and held all bills records before Kelly. My point is Josh is turning into Joe Ferguson when Joe lost it it looks just like Josh now. They even made the helmets red to help Ferguson because the afc all had white helmets if we go to red helmets so Josh dosent throw interceptions the we jumped the shark.

When we drafted Kincaid… I thought, “What a neat weapon for us not to use like all the others.” I said it during the second half of the GB game last year, “Fire Dorsey.” I trusted Ken Dorsey to innovate, be creative, and recreate any resemblance of the Gronk/Hernandez tandem as much as I trust him to run a Denny’s. I agree completely that Ken Dorsey was "a dead man walking" this season -- whether he was fired now, at the bye break, or after the season ... UNLESS the Bills' offense FINALLY caught fire, became more creative, put its best players in the best position to succeed and stopped being so predictable. Taking it a step further, I believe the ONLY way the Bills' offense was going to improve after nearly 2 years of this O-C was going to be to GET HIM SOME HELP because he has clearly been "in over his head" AS an O-C (at least at THIS point in his career). Dorsey IS a VERY SMART guy, and I believe he has a chance -- with more seasoning -- eventually to become an effective O-C. He was given as much "slack" as possible (probably a bit more than prudent), but the Bills' season has pretty much "run out of runway" -- and IF it has ANY CHANCE of being "saved," it will require the Bills going 7-0 (at WORST 6-1) down the stretch in the hardest part of their schedule. IMO, because SOOOO MANY tiebreakers are against the Bills in the AFC wild card chase, the Bills really need to finish 12-5 (and secure an automatic playoff berth the AFC East champion) in order to salvage a shot at the playoffs. I truly believe that an 11-6 Bills team will NOT be able to secure a wild card spot in the AFC (and even that would require going 6-1 in the final 7 games). Anyway, for several weeks I had advocated McDermott and Beane getting Dorsey some HELP to improve his insight and coaching performance as an O-C. An ideal assistant such as a retired Chan Gailey might have made a huge difference in turning Dorsey around and making the Bills' offense more effective. Gailey was always able to get the most out of a "more physically limited/less raw talented" Ryan Fitzpatrick, and he always built a solid running game. That's the ONLY other thing McDermott and Beane could have done to help Dorsey, but that ship has sailed. One additional thing: McDermott is NOT "blameless" at all for this disaster of a season -- losing to too many of the supposed "easier" teams on the schedule (we should have beaten the Jets, Patriots, and Broncos ... and even "if" we had nonetheless lost a "jet-lagged game" to a rested Jacksonville team and a tightly played contest AT Cincinnati, we'd still be 8-2 and in command of the AFC East if not the conference). Yet it's only Dorsey who is "walking the plank" for EVERYBODY's FAILURES as well as his own. IF McDermott FAILS to get the Bils into the playoffs, I think he should be fired too -- not "just" for such an abysmal season, but also for presiding over the RUINATION of once-elite "franchise QB" Josh Allen.

Great studio! It looks awesome! I've been thinking alot lately of how not having a DC this year has affected the Bills. With McDermot having to focus so much on the defence, he needs to trust in the discussions during the defensive play that Dorsey and Allen may have to adjust. Without his oversight, it went downhill. You gotta be able to fully trust someone who is taking a big part of the team on his back. Unfortunately, that trust was broken and McDermott chose to move on. The Defense is the only reason these games aren't blowouts, so at least we have a plus. It's just one side of the ball that needs to get it together and I think they can, but will it be in time?
