Basically you remind people that lorazepam is formulated with propylene glycol and can screw up the kidneys and cause acidodis if they're using high doses for 2 days straight. Or you have the alteplace protocol memorized or remind people Amiodarone 300mg or how fast they can push Mg during code blue. Am I right?

We also educate the physician/nursing staff on proper administration of intranasal medications, we ensure safety of all high risk medications going through the ER, we ensure proper antimicrobial stewardship (because we all know stewardship starts in the ER), and we educate you that, no, you shouldn't use nitroglycerin to rapidly reduce your sICH patient's SBP because it will unfortunately increase ICP, so use nicardipine instead. That just scratches the surface. So we do more than just "remind" you...

Studying medications and how they interact with each other for more than one term does make a big difference. Doctors are there for the diagnosis, pharmacist are there for the medication and what it entails.
