This Saturday I'm on call with a wonderful team of residents and medical students, admitting patients from the emergency department to hospital and managing emergencies in the hospital.
Today there were TWO code blues over night. These are medical emergencies attended by doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and anesthesiology.

Kim Jones I’m an idol trainee my day is 4am to 10pm It’s crucial to have good health and I use yoga if you drink coffee your more lightly to feel tired and sad so yeah that’s just my way of staying awake it’s nothing compared to her tho she’s so amazing

My aunt is actually a nurse and gave me her Human Anatomy and Physiology books. It’s very fascinating and amazes me how our entire body especially the heart works and functions on a daily basis. I’m not sure some people realize that some of her scenes are staged, obviously she’s not going to take more time than needed on a patient that is dying. I just found this channel - literally in love with it. She seems so genuine about everything, not overdramatizing anything. I love studying human biology and human anatomy and want to become a forensics investigator in the future (medicine has crossed my mind lots as a kid). Some of this probably needs to be staged for legal reasons (pretty sure there's no way you'd be able to legally film conversations about patients on the fly, they'd likely reveal private information and then the footage wouldn't be usable/would have to be edited very awkwardly). But the content of the convos seems pretty genuine. She probably asks the staff to re-do a more "anonymous" version of whatever they discuss.

I think that is amazing work. It takes someone special to do a job like being a doctor. May you always have that brilliant approach to medical care, and hope you continue to save lives! I was a coded patient once, and I felt like something was wrong the whole room was swarmed with people.. the next hour my heart was shocked because it was not beating correct!

I feel bad for doctors who are on 26 hours shifts... I was born 25 weeks early and had bronchitis twice and open heart surgery and major things like that etc.... and was an out patient from six years old and had chronic constipation but was referred back at 11 years old and my doctor had stayed 2 hours after his 26 hour shift just to see me since he’s been my doctor since I was born.... so me and my grandma bought him some chocolates on my next visit 😁

My biggest question for these videos is HIPAA. Did you have to get permission from administration to film these videos? Edit: Y’all I just wanted to know if she needed permission because while it doesn’t directly violate HIPAA hearsay, some hospitals are very private/strict with filming so it’s interesting to see her give us this much access (I love it). These type of videos are really amazing for prospective med students who want to know what goes on in a daily shift. She worked a 26 hour shift and we only got to see minutes (!!!) Plz don’t say she is neglectful to patients or staff with her filming, that’s not what I meant.
