I don't see a happy, traditional ending for Arya. I think her expression after she and Gendry are done says it all, "That's just not me". Being back at Winterfell, surrounded by what's left of her family, facing her death, I think she had one last moment of nostalgia, one last try at being a normal girl. She wanted to see if it could be her, but it wasn't. You see that in her expression. The fact is, Arya's a faceless man, Arya's become no one. At the end of GOT I think Arya leaves Winterfell for parts unknown, sailing away. Much like Gandolf and Frodo do in LOTR.

Their exists an interesting duality in that, the current events of the show trace directly back to Roberts rebellion. Roberts rebellion might have resulted in the death of the mad king but it also ruined the possibility of Robert marrying Lyanna Stark which would have joined the houses back then. The start of the story hence being the failure to join house baratheon & stark, the start of the show being an attempt to fix that which failed because of Joffreys parentage and his general personality, and the end of the show being an unlikely union which achieves it.

I don't know who wrote it but either that person had no clue about Naath or did that knowing people watching TV series are clueless. Naath doesn't need army to defend itself because isle has some kind of disease that's spread by butterflies that only natives can survive it. Did anybody noticed when Theon came back and Dany asked him why he wasn't with Yara he looked to Sansa and spoke to her for permission to stay. Dany's face saw the respect and honor Sansa commands from those around her. She looked jealous and sad. It reminds me of Cersei and Marjorie. Marjorie commanded the love of the people. Dany doesn't have the love of the people the way Sansa does. But Sansa doesn't want the iron throne she just wants the North. Breaking th e wheel means breaking the tradition of the iron throne. She doesn't understand that yet. I absolutely love Theon's redemption and I am loving Sansa now. She has been underestimated and I don't think she ever wants to see Kings Landing again. She wants to stay in the North and live out her days in peace remembering her family. Totally team Sansa now. She is amazing. I think she's doing better than Dany by far. Loved this episode I wish the other reunions could have happened slowly like these. So good excited for the fight. I agree, I don't think the battle will go as planned. They have been avoiding the fact that the NK has a dragon for some reason. Which I think shows this plan is way off base.

I was very happy with this episode...there were perhaps only one or two things that I've been hanging out for, and they missed. 1. Jon's reaction to Arya's skill level. We got it from Gendry, but that was it. In fact, i would have liked some sort of reaction from everyone about that, especially those that knew Arya back in Series one, but didn't know her very well (such as Jaime or maybe Varys). The look of Jon's face when he see's Arya go toe to toe with Brienne, Tormund, or even Jon himself, would have been hysterical, and the hound would have just been standing there proudly, and Gendry would be watching with his heart eyes/slightly aroused expression. Dany's reaction would have been interesting to watch as well. 2.During the war council scene I would have liked to hear Arya make a comment, and Tyrion observing "you almost sound like my father" or something along those lines, and Arya just shrugging and causally just mentioning the fact that she was his cup-barer at harranhall, and Tyrion, Jaime and Varys going Holy shit, this girl was under Tywin Lannister's nose for ages, and he never knew that he had Arya Stark right there with him, as he plotted to defeat her brother. Would love a comment for varys, something along the lines on "I believe I've underestimated both of Eddard Stark's daughters", or something like that.

OF COURSE IT WAS... Theon and Sansa have been through some STUFF together at the hands of Ramsey Bolton. If you remember, he made Theon watch as he savagely raped Sansa on the night of their wedding....(Ugh....I never forgot that scene) and it was Theon's spark of courage and the beginning of coming into his own that helped them escape from Ramsey saving both their lives. You gotta know that was partly running through Sansa's mind at the time. Their reunion was absolutely more heartfelt and cathartic, easily one of the best scenes of the episode.
