All my friends had a favorite band back in the early 70s . But I did not have a favorite yet . I liked all the good bands .Than my friend Craig Hodges put on the Live album on his Quadrophonic stereo. And he put the live album in my lap back facing up . I looked at that picture of them on stage and there equipment as I listened to the music ! When the album was over I told all my friends this is my favorite band and Keith is my favorite rock musician!!!

You know one thing really interesting that I remember about this show they did not play any Emerson Lake and Palmer music. They played Rondo and America from Emerson's nice days. The rest of the music was off of the power of three album. I remember hearing the DJ on the radio prior to the show saying that there would be no ELP music and I was so disappointed but I thought that has to be a mistake. However it was the truth they played no original ELP music. But I wasn't disappointed the show absolutely kicked ass.

@edljnehan2811
@edljnehan2811 Жыл бұрын
Ringo Starr w o n Carl Palmer's stainless steel drum kit at an auction. The spinning was accomplished by a rotating drum stand that was equipped with mirrors to allow reflection of the laser light show. The drum platform belong to the band but was not part of the drum kit. Ringo abandoned the drum set in a storage locker and Carl Palmer ended up getting the drums back. Due to the cumbersome nature of hauling the stainless steel set around Palmer attempted to donate the kit to the Hard Rock Cafe Museum. However they turn the donation down due to the cost involved with transporting the massive heavy kit from England to the states. Carl did contact Ringo prior to offering the drums to Hard Rock however Ringo was not interested for whatever reasons on getting the drums back. That information comes from an interview with Carl Palmer. I hope this answers your question. Peace out.

It's sad that Emerson chose to take his own life because of a condition that kept him from playing. It seems he still could have influenced others through teaching.
