Happy to see this back! This was definitely one of my favorite more recent Emerson designs. I am not sure if you have heard/noticed but some Emerson/KIWW products are being sold as Kathy Ireland on Home Depot’s website now. Prices seem slightly cheaper and I am sure quality is the same.

The amount of people asking me questions for months since kiH fans were first spotted in select HD stores earlier this year has been insane lol. They are a great value for the product, definitely recommend at those price points. I'm still a little confused on the whole thing, since they'd renamed the models carried in stores and redesigned the packaging, but the site uses their original Emerson names. I'd be curious to see how those are packaged. And the site doesn't even show the Riptide; in store it was renamed Pacifico and the Curva Sky was Redondo. I suppose they're still working out kinks on what stays, what goes, who has rights to what names, but I swear the confusion and lack of clarity with that saga is never-ending. 💆♂️

@@vfandm No kidding! I guess time will answer these questions. It also appears Sunset and Concord have made a comeback too with Urban33. Glad to see everything returning in some way. Also a little fun fact for you, Luminance actually discontinued KIH before they went bankrupt, they halted production and everything, it just never got out there since the brand folded soon after, they also said they would fulfill tons of orders that never were, they knew they were going under and tried to get people to prepay in some desperate method to save the brand. Many stores were screwed out of thousands of dollars.

What I've heard is that Kathy Ireland fans are being sold again, at Home Depot. Is that true? I hope they add new models and sell them elsewhere eventually...

Yes, it appears Home Depot acquired rights to certain design assets, and I think they just re-licensed those products with kathy ireland to maintain whatever level of brand recognition they could (since obviously Emerson would never license their name/brand in this space again). Seems to be a HD exclusive deal, which is what makes me think it's they who actually own the assets, with select models available in some stores and a wider variety online. Great lower price points for what is essentially still an Emerson fan, and great quality products at the core level.

@ very informative, thanks! I don't know much about this business, but would it theoretically be possible for Emerson to own this fan division again? I know they wouldn't bother, but could they?

I think anything is possible if a party throws enough money at it. Frankly, this thing has been passed around and cannibalized so many times by now that it has next to zero brand integrity left and little brand awareness built in its previous short life; I think it could be acquired for a relatively low investment since it's lost a ton of value with the Emerson history detached. I'm sure it'd still be many millions just looking at assets and inventory and there'd probably be some messiness with the existing/new licensing agreements, but I think the selling price would be no comparison to some of the full line recognized brand acquisitions we've seen in recent years. I'm sure that's why it ended up with an entity like Home Depot, lowball investment to bring extra diversity to their selection. But yeah, it was Emerson's smallest remaining venture accounting for a drop in the bucket of the overall business scope, so they'd never go back to it.

@@vfandmthanks for the info, you know what you're talking about. Unfortunate that Emerson probably never will come back, but it's what I expected. 🤷♂️
