Thank you for this intimate glimpse into the life of Morris's friend, Emery Walker. Morris's genius is everywhere in this beautiful Arts and Crafts dwelling. I thoroughly enjoyed the views.

I am awed by the embroidered bedcover by Mae Morris. Thank you for offering this video on KZbin; so appreciate the information here.

Love hearing about people who made a difference and may be forgotten outside of the UK. Thank you so much.

How wonderful this video is to watch. I love the Arts and Craft Movement especially William Morris and Co. I also admire the work his daughter May did especially with her embroidery. That amazing hand embroidered bed spread done by May Morris for Emery Walkers daughter is to die for! ❤🤗🇨🇦

Clearly a fascinating place and a well-preserved (or restored) interior of a place central to one of the great movements in the decorative arts. I look forward to visiting it!

The fine bedspread would have been prized by Queen Elizabeth I if it were in her possession at the time she reign in England. The work was extremely fine and detailed by a skilled textile artist.

Good choice of music. It is just a bit too loud.

Beautiful. I have recently acquired a small piece of wonderful embroidery just like that bedspread. Only the Lowe’s and lines are much smaller. It is embroidered wool and has the tiniest hand stitched seam down one side. How could I get it appraised? Anyone know?
@ruben14754 жыл бұрын
If you are still looking for a way to get it appraised, perhaps you could make an appointment with a curator of any one of the museums associated with the Arts & Crafts movement, or make an appointment with a reputable dealer or appraiser in that subject. Sometimes museums host appraisal fairs where you bring your item for a relatively low price. Good luck!

Why cover up that beautiful embroidery coverlet on the bed. Oh my goodness, that was gorgeous

To protect it from the light. Wouldn't want those beautiful colours to fade and get dusty, would we!

@@lynnharrell9598 If I didn’t thank you before I do now . I have had cause to use that twice in two days. Such a clever little trick. My iPad came without directions. I am somewhat housebound in the country so isolated too. When I rang the store to ask for directions, they said they were all in the ipad !. First I had to learn how to open it. 😂 That was some years back and am still learning ! I know enough to enjoy what I like to watch. So thank you again , Coral 🥰

@@carolking6355, you are very welcome, and I am happy to help. I really enjoy my iPad. When you have a moment , you can type in on the KZbin search bar, “How to use an iPad,” and there are many videos on introduction to iPad and iPad basics that you should find helpful. 🤗

@@lynnharrell9598 That’s amazing. To go all this time floundering my way along. Obviously the place I bought it was either unequiped to be selling it or only interested in getting paid. I live in the country so it was done by phone and post. You are a real gem.🥰

It becomes a ridiculous pretentious situation though to have wallpaper specialists... Wallpaper is no more functional than a painting.

What a dreary world you must live in. Let's go hang out in a Quaker meeting house, or how 'bout some Stalin apartment buildings?
