The EMF 1851 Navy US Marshall Deluxe is a great looking and good shooting Black Powder revolver. This one is chambered in .44cal and features a polished steel, laser engraved design with a brass grip frame and walnut grips. The very short loading lever makes it somewhat of a pain to load, but shooting it is lots of fun!

Good looking gun Richard. When i shoot my guns with the short loading levers. I use a round pipe as a cheater bar. Also eras gone bullets depending on the conicals they are copys of conicals used in the civil war. They were made oversized during the war so it could be used in all makes and models of revolvers. That plus replicas chambers are a little bit smaller by a few thousands then the originals were made. Being the bullets are oversized if its not cast out of pure lead its a bear to load. If you plan on shooting mostly conicals its worth reaming out the cambers a little. or make sure you use pure soft lead.

One of those off-the-gun loaders would be nice. Not sure how regularly I'll be plinking with this thing! The bullets performed very well, I think I need to buy my own set of molds from Eras Gone. Thanks for watching Snapper!

Nice looking 1851 Richard. Good shooting, the Kerrs were cast with pure lead, so a cheater bar seems to be needed for shorter loading levers.

What a handsome gun! Grips, stainless, brass, scribe and all ! Didn't notice at first but the front sight post bringing the brass forward really ties it together ace! Been dreaming of dressing up my North American Arms Earl Companion, it's really lived up to it's likeness.. with new shooter friends it's size is approachable, the real history is fascinating, and cap/ball loading lends time for appreciating safety and handling! Have you made a video on black powder cleaning? I've always used TC No. 13 Bore Cleaner, around the frame and soaking the cylinder/nipples, but Hickock45 always mentions his love for Ballistol, many others mention Shooter Lube, some mix up their own, I'm curious on changing my cleaning regime and/or supplies.

I have not made a black powder cleaning video yet. I have used a lot of different things though. I will use #13 bore cleaner from time to time to swab a long gun barrel on the range between shots. I will often take a pistol apart and scrub it up in the kitchen sink with a nylon brush and some Dawn dish soap. I make sure I dry them thoroughly and oil them up before putting them away. I've also seen lots of different methods and cleaners, I have no idea which one is the best though. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching too!

There are companies that sell an extension handle that fits over your loading handle, which extends the length of the loading handle, giving you more leverage for ramming Home your projectile and powder charge and protects your hands. I got mine from Slick shot. The same place where I got my upgraded cap nipples.

Beautiful piece. I'm a sucker for the shorter barreled "sheriff" models. It helps to use a longer "cheater" bar (pipe) over the loading lever to give you more leverage, MUCH easier. Plus, I like that .44 punch. If it has a steel frame a gated Kirst conversion would be nice on this model.

I love the look but the slowest I want to go is loading a SAA ... Have owned many cap & ball revolvers but I'm too lazy to shoot them any longer. I actually had a couple years when I had 2 brass framed 58 remington sheriff copies in .44 that I used for home defense. I shot them often and they were reliable and the only legal firearms where I was living. My neighbor had 2 .36 cal 51 Navy clones for his home defense. In a way this gave me extra respect for the fellows who had no choice but to carry pistols of this type in the past. Thanks for the video muchacho:-)

You need to file down the corners of the capper so it will fit right. You'll be amazed at how well it works after that. For the loading lever they sell a tool to extend the loading arm when loading. Or you can find a small metal tube to slide over it to extend it as well just like the tool they sell extends it. I hope this makes it easier you should enjoy using your Navy a lot more after this.

I have the Colt pocket 31 and the 36 51 navy and the 60 army 44.. Did a little cyl/bore matching on all of em and then decided to nickel plate em. which is kinda practical on a BP gun... Soo I plated the barrel and cyl and grip frames. anything color case hardened I left alone. Really.. plating these guns was practice for a couple of other guns I have like a really rough model 19 target. I think they really came out nice. even plated the inside of the cylinders hoping it will help with corrosion prevention.

nickel plating is really easy and cheap. you can make the solution yourself for almost free and a cell phone charger will work (with mods) for the electrical.. lots of youtube vids on this. I would suggest tho that with either silver or nickel that you use a copper barrier first. that is also simple but... adds to the process LOL @@SmallCaliberArmsReview

I’m brand new to this, does the lube hinder the amount of time you can keep it in the chamber and still fire? Is the lube a must? Also, good on you for using ear plugs. I’m 38 and the Marine corps destroyed my eardrums, can’t hear certain birds
@SmallCaliberArmsReview
@SmallCaliberArmsReview 3 ай бұрын
You know, I don't know how long you could leave the lube in there before it actually affects the powder, but if the lead roundball is the proper size, and there is a small ring of lead shaved off when it is seated, the lube should never touch the powder. I may have to load one up and let it sit for a year or two and see what happens! Hearing is one of those things that people don't think about until it's too late. I also have a phobia about having my ears covered so I like to protect it as much as possible. Thank you for the comment, thank you for your service, and thank you for watching!

Great video! I bought one of those 2 years ago and I love it. I have a piece of brass rod. I drilled out to fit on the loading lever and then I have a stand loads of cylinder in. I would bet my life on it has never failed me in that 2 years that I've had it. It is myself defense gun nine times out of 10

It doesn't have anything to do with the branch of service, but the battle scene engraved on the cylinder. It's a little misleading. Thanks for watching!

where's the whiskey? silly in the extreme. caps are tough to come by and far too expensive for drying the nipples, just swab with a pipe cleaner dip in naphtha if you want. the revolver isn't any real navy and its ugly too with that ostentatious laser engraving. a dowel will do fine for making paper cartridges somebody making money on stuff not needed. everybody knows those cappers don't work. i can't get through the whole video but i hope you ended it by saying april fools.
