With all due respect Raven4122; I have these ball joints and this method works great.

How often do these need to be adjusted and greased?

I get mine greased every oil change, I haven't needed to adjust them since I've had them on, about 35,00km

Greased every oil change. Tightened only if there vertical play. If there's a little movement try greasing it. If it takes up the play don't adjust it.

What about lower ones (2014 Ram 3500) ones that lock the knuckle when you grease them? I usually have to take the zerk out to regain function despite multiple rounds of backing the ring off and setting it again. I also have an upper that has grease come out of the perimeter threads when you grease it. The lower BJ issue bothers me the most..

Do the uppers adjust the same way??

The uppers are a straight pin. Almost like a king pin. They move vertically about 3/8 of an inch . Meaning there is no way they can be tightened. The cap on the top just retains the inner insert.

sorry man but this is half assing it.. You have a nice product here but you need to have a set protocol to adjust it. and example, chevy wheel bearing, torque to 75 ft lbs and then back off 1/4 turn.. I mean one sentence you say how touchy your product is then you go banging away on it with a screw driver and hammer you need to be a bit more precise to avoid premature wear, I mean a set of these things are about what $500 plus dollars!

Fairly clear to me, take the set screw out, with a small flat screwdriver, tap the adjusting ring (tightening) while checking for free rotation on the knuckle, when the knuckle is tight, back off the ring, replace set screw. He's not just "banging away on it". He said it was exaggerated how he backed off the tightening ring for demonstration purpose, you probably wouldn't move that ring more than 1/2 an inch to get the correct preload. The only thing the screwdriver is contacting is the tightening ring. How do you have a "set protocol" that's more clear than that?
