I’m loving Volcanicus so far. He’s just so versatile with his normal combined mode and a ton of fan modes. You can have him skinny, normal, bulky and even a mini mode.

Not perfect, but for now i am glad we got an official Dinobot set. Maybe in a few years (like a 100) we will get a Voyager set with G1 style weapons. Sweet review Emgo!

one suggestion for Volcanicus is to get Micronus, his gun mode looks much like Grimlocks twin barrel gun back in G1 which looks nice on him in my view.

Snarl is pretty darn cool. I think that with him, Sludge, Slash, and Swoop (after I take some floor polish to him; he's loose as heck), that'll be it for me for the dinos.

Snarl looks good. As far as the transparent sword goes, there's several transparent paint options for hobby/modeling. A few coats of candy-apple red should give you a translucent red sword more appropriate for him(just be sure to seal it after). While it sucks you have to do that, between pledging joints, touchign up Titanmaster faces, and topcoating stickers down, I'm used to patching up CW/TR/PoP TF's.

Wanna fill the holes in the pecks - Sludge's and Slag's cannons can fit in the chest just encase them on each side and once closed they can then extend out and in like blasting Boob cannons... Holes filled and weapon storage. :)

finally got the last two lads to make volcanicus today (snarl and sludge). have sludge as a leg and snarl as the arm though . for the stupid reason (in my head) that it better fits their "powers" . i.e sludges earthquake inducing stomps , and snarls solar power sourced strength . you can even make a case for slag as an arm as he tends to bludgeon things in dino mode which would go well with an arm punching things . but swoop is just a crap shoot. i cant think of a reason he's an arm over a leg beyond the fact theres nowt left for him to go :D

I've been watching different reviews (Volcanicus, Shuraking, Dinokong, and Toyworld Dinobot...) and I can see different flaws about them all (inestability and collapsing while transforming) and I can't decide which would be better. The issue with Volcanicus to me is that his arms are too far from his body which ironically is fixable by repositioning grimlocks arms WHICH IS EVEN MORE IRONIC CONSIDERING THE LOOK THAT REPOSITIONING GRIMLOCKS ARMS GIVES HIM IS ACTUALLY MORE ACCURATE.

I think I'll agree, Snarl does look the best of the lot, followed closely by Swoop. A pity there were no other Snarls to compare him too. Poor Stego doesn't get love. Volcanicus is kinda disappointing. Way too skinny for what should be a combination of brutes. Shuraking kinda blows him outta the water. Though i will say i like the idea of putting the swords in his palms so it looks like he has blades popping out of hands.

uhhhh... actually that is gold plastic. Snarl has gold plastic as well as clear plastic painted gold. Chasformer you are right to be nervous, though I'm relatively sure that Hasbro has long since changed the formula that they use for "gold plastic", and hopefully it won't crumble to dust after a few years. Personally I'm more worried about the clear plastic. Snarl has clear plastic around balljoints, and clear plastic is notorious for its rigidity and inflexibility (which makes it relatively brittle compared to other plastics). Hopefully it will be okay, but I understand your nervousness.
