Random thought: Transformers are GIANT when in their bot forms. So the Matrix has to be on a pretty large size chain. I doubt they're padlock chains, for a Transformer, it's for be about about Boat Anchor sized chains. Those things are HEAVY. And Galvatron decided to use one just for the swag of it.

I have the original kingdom version and as a mold he’s dope and one of the more fun bots to transform. Definitely an improvement over Titans Return who I enjoyed at the time but there’s no real comparison now

Whereas Ha$bro offers less to maximize their profit margins (e.g. fans double, triple dip into a figure/mold based on deco / accessories, more gapped / hollowed limbs ergo 3rd party upgrade kits, and growing QC / structural integrity issues).

@citizen_grub4171 SS86 Starscream and Springer had articulated hands and more accessories than their original releases. Kingdom Rodimus, which this mold was designed as a companion piece to, has articulated fingers. I'm not paying $60 for a slightly nicer shade of purple.

Nimoys line read of “Here’s a hint” has lived rent free in my head for years, everything about the Starscream execution is dope to the transformation to the couple seconds of buzzing you can hear from his cannon aiming itself. After Cybertron Override Galvatron might be my fave transformer design

I do wish that, when it comes to the Decepticon logos, Hasbro didn't directly print purple on purple. It just doesn't work well, either making the Decepticon symbol difficult to see at all, or making it appear pink, as is the case with Legacy Galvatron

I'm trying to decide if I want a third copy of this mold, because while I already have Kingdom, and GenSelects (to represent Marvel Comic Galvatron AKA Best Galvatron on my shelf) that movie-accurate blue-purple on the SS86 version is VERY nice looking. If I find him in the wild I'll probably break down and get him.

I do really like the new movie-accurate color scheme. It just feels right. But ultimately, I think I still prefer the G1 Toy/Marvel Comics color scheme. Makes Galvatron feel more like it was made from Megatron by retaining more of that silver/gray.

This is their fifth time selling this mould, and they still didn't paint the belly part and tops of the shoulder things red. His chin also needs the darker grey to look more accurate. A shame, because this is probably the last time we'll be getting a G1 Galvatron for some time. Still a cool figure, though, and I can't deny that it looks great in these colors.

If they gave you the larger back spine from and upgrade kit for kindom and a more toom accurate head sculpt then I probably would've gotten it but until upgrade kits come for it nope, not at all. Love the color though so when uogrades do come then my upgraded legacy galvatron will be replaced then

I like the Kingdom colors more than 86 SS Galvatron. I have no nostalgia for the G1 series since I was in my 20s when I saw the G1 series and 86 movie. The first Galvatron I saw was RID 2001.

If you think about it (or probably best not to) in a really wierd way, Galvatron's first transformation was basically him getting down on his hands and knees and blowing Starscream......away. ('cause his alt mode is literally him getting down on his hands and knees and sticking a fusion canon on top of his head)

This is very interesting. And it makes me happy my kid was never really into action figures. Because this Galvatron in G1 toy colors goes for $26, Kingdom colors $32, and 86 movie colors for $55. There is no way I could've been convinced to pay more than double the price for the same figure. My pop would've bought the cheap one and told me to play with it in the dark.
