Emil Ferris is a national treasure and her birthday should be an international holiday! If there was any justice in this world, BIC or one of those ball point pen companies would give her a sponsorship and give her $3.5 million dollars annually......Meanwhile, check out Noah Van Sciver, showin' off his prowess as an interviewer, just like a young Charlie Rose! (only half as creepy)

I was going to go to bed after several hours of sweating over comics-making, but saw this and had to immediately watch the whole thing. Emil is miraculous.

Saw her speak at my campus library a few years ago. Great to see her in conversation with another cartoonist!

This is one of the most helpful conversations I've ever heard about comics. Emil is so generous with her advice and stories. When I read your bio in MOME, Noah, I was like "THAT IS SUCH A GOOD IDEA!"

Excellent and wise interview and can't wait for both of your next books. I told my collection of tchotchkes, who all have imposter syndrome, that they are not alone. There are other rooms like theirs, curated by refined tastemakers.

This was one of the best interviews of your channel, she is awesome! I loved her book, and looking forward to the next one. I didn't know her background or anything about her, so that makes it extra special. Thanks Noah

Park full of graves, reminds me of stories about Cheeseman Park in Denver. Rumors I heard said it was a burial ground for indigenous people who were relocated and then it was a graveyard then a park. Supposedly they find bodies when digging in the park? Or that’s the hearsay I got when I lived next to it

14:40 It's kind of spooky how this conversation about Ai foreshadowed what ended up happening. Toilet plungers and bricks for sure, which may explain a segment of the conversation of why the United States doesn't value art and stories, especially comics, the same way France, most of Europe, and possibly other countries do.

lol holy shit, i watched the first 20 minutes thinking about these older sophisticated graphic novelists talking about old objects, ephemera and inspirations, and then Noah pulls out his old dinosaur toy and its the same little jurassic park toy i had in grade 4... and i'm like, oh shit, i think i'm older than this guy... anyway great interview so far, i had to pause to comment on this part tho
