Thanks for the free class on wind reading Mr. Praslick . I also have the wind book and it’s great. This is great for first shot on target. I would also love a class on successive shot strategy. Thanks again.

Windy is a great application to scope the wind before a match. Build a general direction speed thesis and then you can terrain adjust at the general direction.

The wind gradient effect is can be illustrated with current flow in a river...trout hang out at the bottom because it's calm down there. There is a video of a wood stake with ribbons tied along it showing the water speed progression from end to end

At my range where I shoot ARA and USBR benchrest at 50 yards. On most days there is an unseen down draft about 3/4 to the target stand. This occurs almost without regard to the wind direction. Most affected between 10-2 and 4-8. The strange part it drops or increases without warning.

So far, I have been very successful out to 1000 yards in Service Rifle Division of NRA LR using the wind reading/countering instruction and MOA wind constant formula in the original SDM course manual. I am assuming you wrote that instruction? Also, the advice to appraise wind at mid-range from the manual has worked out well, really well, especially at Camp Atterbury.

This is amazing! Is there a pamphlet or book or a way we can pay for a copy of the power point? I’d love to have a hard copy of this information to keep in my range bag.

Well, here we have one of the most accomplished shooters on the planet from whom we can all learn much in the arena of shooting yet so few views. Somewhat disturbing when there are some channels focused on good shooting where totally un credentialed hosts who are not qualified to profess on any shooting topic are perceived by novice shooters to be providing great instruction. Are these viewers just not intelligent enough to think critically about good shooting to seek instruction from real experts?
