It's May 2023. I know the video is a while ago, but such amazing info, I tried this and my horse says thank you.

I thoroughly enjoy all his training videos - but he all too often assumes that we have knowledge and skills that we don't. His rider Tom also, is advanced and the horses go forward very sweetly for him . I would love to see him teach a rider of less ability and also on a less advanced horse . EF is a top class trainer, but more suitable for those riders who have already achieved independent seats and are able to sit softly on a well trained horse . That doesn't mean I don't understand but he needs to emphasise the aids for each of these lessons.. I watched his shoulder-in video and although the horse executed it almost perfectly never once did he discuss aids ,I much preferred Annie Macdonald Ross' version , purely because she explained it bit by bit.. I still love his videos .

You still did not explain what IS a bend and why do we even have to know what bend IS and why it is good to bend our horse ? too many why's. For all of you watching this video and wanting to know what bend is - bending your horse makes him more supple, more stable, more balanced because while the horse is bent, he is working his side muscles which are responsible for his stabilization while doing circles. What would happen if horse will not bend ? He will be straight and turning like motorcycle, means his weight will lean towards the ground and because of that you could fall with your horse becuase his legs can slip. Bending helps horse to stay straight and work his legs - so it looks like the horse is drifting like a car, his hind legs are doing bigger circle than his front legs
