I can relate to the being excited! I LOVED medical stuff, loved getting X-rays, MRIs, being touched and listening to my heart looking in my ears etc. I was not worried at all. Then it happened. Feels nice that others can relate

This video kind of shook me. I'm not sure if my procedure was exactly the same. I didn't have UTI issues, but I was catheterized at 9 due to bedwetting. Have you heard about men having similar issues?

Absolutely! So sorry to hear you relate. Yes, we've connected with men who also experienced this trauma. The reason for the female majority is simply because VUR typically resolves much earlier in boys than in girls, so more girls have this specific test. But no matter your circumstances, please know our support groups/resources are meant for anyone who experienced medical/urological trauma, regardless of age, gender, location, etc. ❤️ Some of our survivors didn't have the VCUG test specifically, but underwent similar urological procedures that resulted in similar trauma. All are welcome! One of our allies is actually a male journalist who wrote this STAT news article. I believe a 36 y/o male is interviewed: www.statnews.com/2023/09/11/vguc-children-test-uti-stress/?fbclid=IwAR1HirxpDBIb6OGsJeMF24xTwOXn9bipyceGz4KY_Hi3VZTnbFrDsmxMpls Including the link here in case you find it helpful to hear the male perspective! Feel free to check out our website too - we have plenty of resources on VCUG and childhood trauma in general that may help you process your experience. No pressure! Wishing you peace and healing in your journey. ❤️🩹
