@@Mayra9148 Aye true, to be fair though the female equivalent of male full frontal nudity would involve spreading their legs with the camera at just the right angle. Like Emilia was fully naked, but it's not like you can see her clitoris or anything. I personally would have no problems with more male nudity on television, but I guarantee most would use a prosthetic instead of showing their real penis, unless their real penis was quite large when soft.

So that scene butchered 2 things: 1) The meaning of the pyre scene. That fire was magical and that's why she was unharmed. Martin even said that this wouldn't work again. A lot of Targaryens were killed or harmed by fire so they're all clearly not fireproof. 2) The dothraki culture. They're afraid of magic and would normally run at the sight of a women stepping out of a big fire unharmed. She's such a white savior. I am so done with this show and its forced and expected drama for shock value.

1) Being completely immune to fire doesnt bother me personally (being immune to dragon fire/wild fire on the other hand). 2) Great point actually, The Dothraki would not abandon there way of life and follow a witch. If she burnt all the Khals, you bet your ass there will be large number of blood rivals looking to cut her head off.

Also, the fact that she was naked represents rebirth. She's been unable to control a lot of things during the last season, and the fire scene was a way to cleanse all that "weakness" and be reborn out of the flames. If you notice, in the episode that follows she looks very pretty and strong. So yes, in this case being naked is empowering. You know, nudity serves other purposes other than sexual ones.
@user-pf6kj3yz8x8 жыл бұрын
It's symbolic, in an earlier episode she tried to prove her worth by her titles, lineage, dragons, etc and the Khal told her she was nothing and had nothing, "stripping" her of everything she thought she was. But when it came down to it, she defeated all the Khals using nothing but her own strength. Her nudity wasn't a sexual thing, she had just been defined as a purely sexual thing by the Khals and she defied that and surpassed that sexuality because none of those Dothraki were thinking about anything abut her power when she emerged from that fire.

First of all, boobs do not equal penises, like someone already said. Secondly, where is the feminist outcry for violence equality in Game of Thrones? Men are disfigured and killed in much, much higher numbers and in much more graphic detail than women on Game of Thrones. Since feminism is for equality and therefore by definition 'for men too', where is that outcry? Yeah, thought so.
@goldmegaman10008 жыл бұрын
are you asking for censorship? for controversy? I don't understand you
@Settlers68 жыл бұрын
I'm asking for equality. It's not that hard to understand. The give away was how I mentioned feminism's lack of outcry at the end, to point to their hypocrisy. Personally, I don't care about nudity, both male and female, if it is wellplaced. Even if it's not, it may bother my viewing experience, but I don't think it's a societal 'inequality' issue worth complaining about. Have I made my point of view clear enough?
@niveshproag86608 жыл бұрын
Because the story is set in a medieval setting where there's a lot of male violence and female nudity...
@Settlers68 жыл бұрын
Firstly, that doesn't mean the show NECESSARILY needs to show those things. People shat a lot too back then, but that does not necessarily have to be shown in order to have a show in that period. Secondly and more importantly, I'm in agreement with you. I don't care about the fictional violence against men and the female nudity, I often enjoy those things. My problem is that some women and/or feminists like Emilia Clarke only care about the portrayal of women, but are suddenly silent when it comes to men's portrayal. That was the point of my original comment: to point out the hypocrisy in this video.

Not really. Nipples aren't nudity. Male nudity is shown all the time. More than women in film and shows. Actual penises are shown bcuz for some reason that is the equivalent to boobs to some ppl. The actual equivalent to a woman's chest is a man and we see that all the time. If they're showing male genitals now then they need to show women's too for actual equality.
