I tried her with Navia Bennett. It worked fine without Albedo/Chiori and lost Burning a bit towards the end of a rotation. The main issue is that for multiwave you need to swap to Bennett to get Pyro back but all in all, i liked her in that slot. Fashion impact: Navia, Ningguang, Emilie and uhh Bennett

i’ve been trying lyney stuff. i was getting 40-50 second clears with c0 lyney/c0 emilie. i’m quite fond of it. i do have emilie’s signature though, so she does a pretty large chunk of damage. it was nice for clearing the multiwave content because her skill (or skill/burst) were enough to finish up waves on her own without needing to start an entirely new rotation

@@shikuro6099 xiangling is better for aoe and emily for single target, however if the boss has a big hitbox xiangling outdps's her in both senarios.Adding on if you are investing a ton into lyney xiangling is just straightup better due to the buffs resulting in more damage. IE the more you put into your lyney team the worse emily gets compared to xiangling in single target against a smol boss.

it is shocking how it's been 4 years and we don't have any good attack scaling 4 star spear options. Xiao has always suffered from this. The only reason this isn't addressed more is every spear dps want something other than attack..... except xiao rosaria and now emilie. And rosaria can go er emblem...

On Wriothesley teams I agree that she doesn't feel like a big upgrade over the Furina variants however, they are close enough in clear times for me, and letting Furina go to the other team is valuable since I no longer have to play tetris with my Furina team building. I also just let go off Xiangling because I really dislike her and opted for Deepwood Thoma instead, feels nicer, comfy.

In my personal experience, having most characters on my account, I found her best -current- team to be a "Hyper Emilie" variant. Using Nahida for Deepwood Memories, Furina, C6 Bennett and On Field C0 Emilie (using staff of Homeless because Aqua Simulacra decided she wanted to be R2 I guess), she's hitting special lamp attacks for 140k. Her lamp hits between 20 and 30k. Ult gives me 70k ticks. And all this with talents at level 7. She's on field to use Bennett's atk buff and also to make use of his infusion which... get this... Emilie hits for 8k dmg basics with Bennett... at talent level 1. I'm going to get her normals up to 8 because I think there's a legit case to be made here. lol.

Well the fact that Emilie with fav lance is competing with sub dps with their best free to play options shows how much of a damage dealer she is, the fact that her unbuffed off field damage is competing with damage of the likes of Xiangling with almost 6 buffs to do damage ranging from res shred to atk buff, is really scary We really need to understand that this is just her raw dendro damage no buffs easily competing with other sub dps with buffs to their damage The main things holding Emilie back are her lack of weapon options and lack of teams that can really buff her own damage with being detrimental to the team Also with c1, I feel she would be an upgrade in the mono pyro team cus the amount of times her passive proc is 5 at c0 and at c1, it’s around roughly 8 or 9 which is a big damage increase In conclusion from my testing, currently she might not be the best for any team currently but she is a strong alternative for most teams like mono pyro because of how convenient her playstyle is and if you vertically invest in her, I don’t think there is any off field unit that comes close in terms of damage all things being equal except for furina and Xiangling in vape teams cus her high uptime and crazy constellations just help her I do feel she is a character for natlan and as most of us already know she would be become more useful in 5.0 because of a certain character

@@AlwaysThirstys I don’t really think so if Emilie has deep wood holder in her team and her signature she would come close to a Xiangling in a vape team because she doesn’t snap shot she cannot get bennet’s buff offield but if you get her c1, then she is just on par if not better in single target than Xiangling vape, at the end of the day we are comparing the raw damage of Emilie with vape damage of Xiangling and it’s this close, raw damage vs reaction dmg shouldn’t even be a fair comparison in the first place but Emilie’s dmg is so high that Xiangling really needs to be properly buffed before she can outdamage Emilie. If Xiangling miss out on a bennet’s buff even in a vape team she would deal less damage than Emilie My Emilie is 60/170 with missive Windspear and her BIS artifact and her passive pros deals around 44k+, her skill around 11k+ per puff, her burst around 38k-40k and I use her in my arlechinno team and she was like 6 seconds behind my arlechinno vape team with yelan against the raiden boss, and in the abyss both teams were like 2 seconds apart. Both teams performed the same against asimon both clear around 45ish seconds same with maguu kenki Tho I still prefer my vape arlechinno but seeing that Emilie just provides damage in the team and give me similar clears is crazy

I can't fathom how you don't have way more subs - this is the kind of practical walkthrough that is SO helpful because you point out the nuances - like how she compares in each team and how you can shift artifacts around specifically for unique team comps, or how another character might just fit the role in a specific team better or equal or how she can be played sub-optimally for her, but she might be a more convenient version to another character which could still make her worth it. That was worded clumsily but anyway, thanks for testing all of this out for us!

I think being a sidegrade to XL or Furina at this stage is pretty good. It’s a dangerous game to pull based on future impact, but considering her synergy with both Kinich and Mualani, I would be surprised if Emilie didn’t get some increased value from the archon once she’s out

Man i got her accidentally and now I'm favging her plus using for now golden troupe on her and her damage is quite good .. i managed to clear the current abyss with a team of her, Furina, Bennett and deep wood memories kazuha (i know that vv is better because you want to swirl hydro for furina but you'll have a hard time trying to do that on a burning mob lol)

​@@ginger2114it isn't really cope. The passive will still trigger even when she is entirely off field unlike Fav needing a couple hits to get crits in. Kitain has 12% dmg bonus, 24 ER refund in a 20+ second rotation, and has high base atk, as much as Fav, and EM is not as bad when she is used in quickburn like with cyno, Clorinde, or a Raiden team which would be Bennett, Xiangling, Raiden, Emilie.

Yeah, that's not the relatable part, it's fax lance cuz her weapon for her damage is 80% better according to TGS calcs Still, her artifacts were 2 six staters, 2 seven staters and 1 five seater That's very consistent and good, but you can go higher And ofcource with weapon, the ER would be useless so the stats drop lower

Kitain Spear is really underrated. You get the same benefit as her Signature (bursting every rotation). It technically gives more energy than her own signature in some cases. It also buffs a bit of Skill Damage. All CCs seems to forget about this weapon's existence. The EM Substats is not really a big loss since it's a high Base ATK weapon. Favge isn't really better since her teammates rarely have energy issue, it's mostly just herself. For teams, I really like Burgeon (Sigewinne, Furina, Emilie + any Pyro). Emilie & Furina are mostly single target, so the AoE from Burgeon is really helpful.

We don't talk about kitain because of the staggering difference between her weapon and everything else. Even if you match the er, you're missing 40 base attack, 15% attack, 36% damage bonus, 33% crit rate. PS: people probably just forgot it existed 😂

Doesn't Kitain Spear rely on using your elemental skill? Emilie doesn't want to use her elemental skill ever again while you're in a battle. You're supposed to keep bursting over and over again so her Lamp doesn't go back to level 1, because it takes the lamp about 10 seconds to go from level 1 to level 2. Ult refreshed lamp back to Level 2 and goes instantly into level 3 as soon as the burst animation finishes.

It's always a pleasure to hear your reasoned takes! I think Emilie is in quite a nice spot in the meta where she's strong, but not overwhelming or irreplaceable, so people who like her can be happy pulling and people who don't like her can be happy skipping. I fall into the former and I was VERY happy pulling. I do think one of her strengths is in how good her QOL is - the range of her lamp is surprisingly big, and since her ult also casts her skill with its full duration, you can play her like c6 Faruzan where you just build enough ER to suit your rotation length, then press ult whenever it's ready and have 22 seconds of fuss-free uptime, never needing to touch her skill. Being a reasonable sidegrade or even an upgrade (if she had her R1, etc) to extremely valuable characters like Nahida, Furina and Xiangling is also pretty nice since it can free them up for your other teams. I had really good results with Furina forward vape + onfield Emilie myself, though I was lucky enough to get her R1. I've also seen people talk about Emilie plunge, and I think there's some great synergy there too, since she can provide good main and sub-DPS damage from inside Benny buff.

In my experience I've had slightly faster clear times in the abyss using my C1 Nuevi in an Emilee burn team(with Xiangling and Childe) compared to his Furina teams and Furina is literally buffed by IT right now. She's also less annoying and more comfy than Nahida in that team especially aginst mobs.

I've seen a furina, emilie, bennet, xiangling team and if your furina is built, it seems to do insane damage. She buffs emilie, xiangling and herself while also being able to vape. You can also onfield emilie to maintain bennet's buffs as well as if bennet's c6, apply pyro even more. I don't have emilie but i did find it funny that while calculating her build with my artifacts and weapons, if you have furina (even at c0) she invalidates emilie's weapon and the new artifact set over something like deepwood and jade spear (if you on field emilie). Jade spear and deepwood actually seem to have higher damage lol. This is absolutely hilarious and just further proves how awesome furina is while also making emilie's damage skyrocket.

As far as Nahida goes, I don't think it is fair to attribute Cyno's weakness to her. With her fast recharge, she can handle multi-wave content pretty easily. Quite a few characters are worse off than her, including most Circle Impact types, as often the next wave doesn't nicely spawn inside the circle. It is one of her strengths. And her damage isn't that bad, but it wants her damage conditions met: electro for faster ICD on her procs and pyro for some bonus DMG. It is rare that she has both met. And then she still needs the trigger condition met often enough on top of that (something burn excels at). But short of it, she wants C1 for better personal damage. The opportunity cost of Deepwood Zhongli is kind of moot. Zhongli debuffs dendro resists, so just his being there already makes the burning set the stronger one for Emily, all else being equal. Her weapon situation definitely is a big drawback though. Blackcliff or Royal are her highest DPS F2P, 4 star, stay off the weapon banner choices, if you don't have the Missive Windspear. If you do wish on the weapon banner, you might have a Lithic Spear, which matches those and will exceed them if you have at least 1 Liyue character in the party. But all are lower than the Windspear, and her signature is over 30% higher than Windspear. Huge damage difference there for new players, as they'll be doing 2/3rds of the damage. Best hope is that you manage to get a five star spear off the standard banner. Ideally, the Jade Wing, which also fits her color scheme quite nicely. And sadly, the upcoming crafted weapon won't help either.

Yeah she is at best an alternative to nahida/xianling in some team comps. Most notably in wriosley burn melt. Nahida is too good in quicken/bloom teams that it's such a waste to put her as burn sustainer. So we put replace her with emilie instead. . Emilie can also be a substitute on xianling mono pyro team if there are atleast 2solo boss chambers in the same half. . Other than that, she doesnt really have an outstanding position in the meta yet. Hopefully natlan fixes her.

Question regarding Emelie damage bonus passive vs. burning enemies. It says you gain each increment per 1000 ATK. Does that mean you trigger the max damage from 2400 ATK as soon as you clear 2400 ATK? Or do you actually have to hit 3000 ATK to collect the benefit of max 2400 ATK, otherwise you're still stuck at 2000 ATK threshold?

My only real issue is that Emilie's banner is full of 4 star characters I have at C6 and not interested in Razor who is the only one not C6. I'll just wait for the rerun for Emilie and hope she comes in a banner that have other value besides just her.

Just got her yesterday and need to upgrade her properly before giving an opinion. But I overall see her as a sidegrade that's simple to play. Which in the context of stuff like the theater makes sense. Now I have to say I'm not particularly worried about her not rerunning. The name of the game is patience for some of us... If she's part of a puzzle we don't have all the pieces for it's an entirely fair and normal take to just wait for her to be relevant to pull her. Nothing of value will be lost, because contrary to Kazuha and Yelan, she's "just dmg". Aside from that, my current plan is to pair her with Deepwood Thoma (not like the boy as any other set that works great for him... Shielder set, doko?). My issue is kinda who's the last teamate if I have an on field Carry... Benny? Kazuha? Both are valuable in other teams too...

Some newer characters have pretty bad weapon option like chiori only have hod which doesn't work well with furina and benett. Same with emilie with fav she is just a xl alternative in a few teams. Arlecchino only have white tessel but atleast she make up for it due to how broken she is

@@jamiekb9v Also overall team dps of Navia team with chiori and zhongli is similar if chiori is c0r0. They did her dirty for Navia mains. She already didn't have a good weapon option on top of locking her potential damage behind C1 or geo construct which navia team doesn't have. Hod is a pain to use after release of Furina and Furina and Benett are used in 90% of teams. After getting a single hit in Benett team passive gone for the whole run.

I find Kitain Cross Spear a good alternative for Emilie. It does have a pretty pitiful EM secondary stat but it has a high base atk, up to 12% elemental skill dmg, and up to 12 refunded energy which gets procced easily as its triggered on elemental skill dmg every 10 seconds. So Emilie can trigger it once per burst, making her burst effectively a 38 cost burst and also reducing her ER requirements. It may not be as comparable to Fav lance, but its craftable and there are far more characters that will hog away rights to equip Fav lance over her.

Me pull Emilie for my Keqing Aggravate quick swoop team. Seriously she has really good animation which can fast cancel, unlike Collei and Kirara, even Nahida seems slower xD. I treat her like Fischl but dendro.

Great review. The only issue is that your opinion is based on a fav Emilie, which is FAR inferior to an Emilie with Signature, or other 5* option or BP. And even if she isn't a clear best in slot in some team, she is still a competitive option pretty much equal to the current BiS team. And the characters she can replace are top tier characters like Xiangling, Furina, Nahida, Kazuha, Yelan, etc. It can free them for the 2nd part of the abyss. Moreover, she open some fun new quickswap teams and she can even be played as a carry on-field with great performance.

It's completely unreasonable to selectively decide which units get to be tested with their signatures and which ones don't. That creates solid ground for disingenuous and biased reviews - no one is assessing Yelan's performance with Aqua, despite it being a similar increase for her from Favonius as Lumidouce Elegy is for Emilie.

Exactly. Since Emilie is purely a damage dealer, putting her on Favge is a little sus, it would be comparable to running xiao or itto on favonius weapons. Sure xiao itto are on fielders and Emilie is an off fielder but my point is that their only role is to do damage, not support the team’s er needs. I am not defending hoyo though, it’s pretty shameless how bad the 4 star spears are in this game

What I don't like it that we still have NO clue at this point whether burning will finally become viable in Natlan, or not even. Mualani, Kinich and Xilonen don't seem to have much to do with burning and what comes next is still months and months away. I really wanted to pull Emilie, but I think I'll skip for probably at least 2 of the other 3 now.

It is annoying for me to see her in a lot of teams with Xiangling and Bennett. Pyro is so boring right now, the lack of choices for a pyro off field feel feel bad. It will not feel good for me to build more pyro on field dps too. I really agree with you about Emilie and Natlan, but now the only way to make her good is to play characters I don't want to use with news teams (Bennett and Xiangling).

@@spartantraveler7251The team with Nahida was already kind of mediocre in terms of damage, the saving grace was the AOE. When you add Emilie you get more personal damage from her, but also if she is the one with the Burning ownership then the burning wont do much damage, also you are losing Nahidas EM buff and Nahida also had a better AOE. Sounds like a sidegrade at best to a not that good of a team. I havent tried it tho, so if you are curious then thats something you can do ig.

I've genuinely been shocked at how much damage I'm doing with a PJWS on her. I'm talking 70k-100k damage ticks during her Elemental Burst so I feel like I had a very different experience than you did. I've seen Whisperwalk here on KZbin even push 120k using her signature weapon on a Rosaria reverse melt team so I'm sure that there's room to grow if I decide to pick up her weapon. I understand that there's an Abyss blessing that buffs her damage right now but even if we lose the 20% bonus, she absolutely has some gnarly damage for someone who requires zero player input. The most consistent teams I've played with her so far have been the Bennett + Emilie + Kazuha/Furina + on-field Pyro or Cryo DPS unit with the edge going to Kazuha for most situations while Furina feels stronger in boss fights. Arlecchino felt the best in that last slot but Lyney certainly felt close and even better for Furina variants. Hell, even Dehya felt perfectly serviceable here as it felt like even though she was the on-field unit both Emilie and Furina did significant damage on their own that it didn't really matter who was in that last slot and Dehya just adds some really appreciated QoL like tankiness and interruption resistance for aggressive enemies. She'll never really be my first pick but it was the first time that my Dehya felt great to play.

You're pretty spot on with what i've tested too, while im not too worried about the best teams or anything, I did found her pretty much on the same level as R5 catch xiangling on most teams with R1 PJWS (though my reverie sucks to be fair with 77/167), and im lucky i even have that weapon option. You can slot her in pretty much anywhere xiangling is to similar effect. My favorite team so far was with raiden ironically enough, much better results with the quickburn teams than with clorinde and you get to reduce her ER requirements and use bennet and xl, but raiden is so stablished at this point its not worth recommending over the other myriad teams most players likely have available for her, and I say this as a C6 chevreuse owner. What I mean to say is she's design wise on the same boat as Siegwinne, you trade an immediate power ceiling for comfort, though in Emilie's case she has flexibility on her side

I think you misunderstand a bit. She isn't spread damage dealer, she is the first and so far the only RAW dendro damage dealer character, different than tighnari, alhaitham and nahida who mostly utilize catalyze/spread reaction. She was design to be played as a raw dendro damage dealer by utilizing her high multipliers from her passive.

And she have that passive because she is designed that way by hoyo, to be a unique dendro character that utilize burning. It is fundamental to her. It's like you're asking "why does navia need crystallize?" or "why does chevruse need overloaded?" The answer is because they're designed that way by hoyo.
