I love emilys rant about childbirth! I’m 23 yr old mum of a 1 year old boy and I’ve never heard anyone talk about the desexualisation of becoming a mother. i also like how Jamie sits listens and lets her speak. Genuinely love this podcast I think Jamie is great x

Thank you for this conversation and well done Emily for being so open about childbirth and, even more importantly, about the experience of sex for women over the years.

SO refreshing to hear Emily say it all like it is. A genuine, realistic account of today's society and the constant pressure on women. Good on you Grrl! Thank you both for sharing.

If you think there is pressure on women today, there is as much if not more pressure on men, especially in your 20s and 30s, nobody escapes it, the pressures may differ somewhat, but they are just as intense for men.

I've never once commented on a friend's weight... I'd worry if my friends did it to me. Only older family members ever have and its always a shock because its so rare. If you're in those circles, get out or change them. That's NOT healthy. You can choose your friends. Why would you ever choose those people?

Exactly. Nor me and I'm a 26 year old woman. I get comments like this from colleagues at work. Not friends.

I know everyone’s different but I had my baby September of this year and I have never felt more sexualised…. Probably my fault for flaunting my baby bump on social media. I’m also incredibly jealous that Emily doesn’t feel the need to loose the weight (btw defo doesn’t look even a smidge overweight anyway) .

I love the idea of the new law she's trying to get passed but I'm worried that once you've confirmed it, you then can't change your mind in the eyes of the man. So I've signed this, but then when we start to have sex...I've changed my mind/it hurts/I want to stop, and they carry on because you've already signed your choice. What do you think? Xxx

Breast feeding is not for everyone, i was in same situation, i couldnt breast feed, got mastitis, such a painful thing. It dies not make you any less of a woman. I wish men went through this process, maybe they would be more empathetic towards women.

I was listening for the beginning of the video, then it descended into another load of toxic feminist slop and I completely lost interest. Male bashing has become so commonplace in today's media and it is getting harder to escape from it. I agree with the point that you shouldn't rape, but this video could serve to teach a generation of young girls to hate men and a generation of young boys to hate themselves (Possibility including Emily's own son). I cannot imagine what he would think watching this in the future, by that point he would have likely started to hate his own gender, why she considered posting something like this, let along speak about it, is past understanding.

none. she's on here openly admitting to continuously getting black out drunk and having sex with people, then regretting it in the morning with a sober mind.... but its always someone else's fault. its not her fault for doing this over and over and over again. its the guys fault. again openly admitting to only enjoying sex a maximum of 5 times in her life... where I presume she's had sex hundreds of times.... but again its the guys fault she keeps having sex and not enjoying it and putting herself in situations where she has sex and doesn't enjoy it. not her fault though. ive not watched the whole interview, I skipped to that part to be honest. but she's a pretty dangerous woman. no guy should go anywhere near her. she's the type, as she admits, to get black out drunk, throw herself all over you and obviously consent at the time whatever condition she's in.... wake up, regret it once sober, and cry rape. very dangerous. also not a mention from her about guys who get drunk and have sex and wake up realising they weren't sober enough to make a rational decision. how does she know she's not sexually assaulted all these guys she's slept with when drunk, as they could have been equally as drunk as her. no consideration she could be a rapist just like she's saying they are. asking guys to take accountability but no accountability on her end. she sounds a professional victim who doesn't take any accountability for her actions. stay away lads.

Started to watch this but had to switch off after 10 mins. It's very sad and quite a shame that Emily is the one hung up on weight. She says women are hung up on it and greet each other by commenting on each others weight. Sorry Hun, but no, we don't! Maybe if that really is the case you need to think about changing your circle of friends! The convo moved on to childbirth and that was it for me! Emily sweetie, don't be so dramatic about things women go through and get on with daily, without needing to feel like a victim! X

You’re lucky then. Every social circle of women I’ve ever been exposed to (in multiple countries) have made weight a main topic.

Wow... someone talking about their lived experiences doesn't make them a victim. Besides, she was really very balanced and addressed the complexity of a lot of these issues - how no one group is to blame, and how we must take responsibility where we can not to perpetuate them. If we don't talk about these things, then we'll never see any change, and will have to 'get on' with this stuff forever! If anything is sad it's keyboard trolls like yourself (sweetie!)

Not everyone's experiences are the same. I think it's important not to invalidate other's experiences. I'm a similar age and I feel it this is true because our generation grew up at a time of heroin chic and media worshipping looking stick thin. It unconsciously is part of our psyche that looking slim is a great compliment. It takes time and work to undo this. I can't imagine also being in the spotlight.

I think you can tell, as much as she says she doesn’t, she has issues herself with her weight because of probably the comments she got. She’s been sexualised on tv and also shut down for it. She’s a beautiful lady, I think she’s brought up a lot of important topics that a lot of us women go through
