This tiny, brilliant diamond has the potential to become one of the most powerful and influential people in the music industry. She writes symphonies, scores films and commercials, writes and performs great jazz, is one of the most effective and emotionally aware classical concert pianists I've ever heard, can improv anything, even classical music. I can imagine she will become one of the baddest jazz pianists ever. There are no limits.

When you contemplate humanity, the human condition, human excellence, artistry, innocence, purity, love, light, wonder, magic, spirit, and essence of talent, achievement, and the magnificence that some of our fellow world citizens wield....its beyond the scope of normal thought, Its a wonder, its gives me strength, it makes me glad to be alive, its a treasure for our collective spirit to marvel at, be inspired by, and take hope in. Its one of those rare moments when you are reassured we humans are capable of great things, good things...decent things. This child has me captured in all ways that I hold most precious,

This selection is my favorite CD of hers and do I ever love hearing her play. I don't mean hearing others play her music, I mean listening to HER play. She has such a gift! Not just for composing but for playing. Her fingers on the keys bring magic. She doesn't play just the notes of a piece, she plays the heart of it.

The drummer rocks and he clearly had the test of his career keeping time for her. She actually knows every note the others need to play. I am so happy to have found her today; an inspiration for all of us. Thanks Emily, just let it flow as you feel it to the day you die. Please don't let the garbage dump music industry abuse you for their own profit.

I'm sure your familiar with drummer John Robinson. He was a member of Quincy Jone's "In the house band" for many years and still works for David Foster on different gigs. Just one of the entertaining elements here is that we are treated to the pretty rare spectacle of both drummer and bassist actually reading notes and turning pages as they play. Another chuckle is that we see Emily directing her sidemen from her piano. After many views, I still marvel that Emily wrote and arranged the piece and that all this beautiful, original music sprang from her fertile mind at the age of 11. As another commenter said, and as her recent Grammy nomination at the age of 20 proves, there are no limits for her.
@nick5times8 жыл бұрын
I also want to add that I have been studying music for over 59 years and I can truly respect her musical talent which comes out in the forefront so naturally that it is almost effortless for Emily but not for most of mankind.....Yet I am so thankful for the gifts which Emily shares with humankind in such a humble and most selfless manner.....She is a Godsend in a world where we often accept mediocrity or just plain "it's good enough" when we know otherwise ....

I have been following Emily's career for quite a few years and I'm so happy to see her being taken as seriously as she deserves. She is a true musical genius, not merely a child prodigy. I make the distinction because the idea of a child prodigy is how early they show abilities normally expected of adults. By the time most of them get to be adults, they 'level off' to rather unexceptional degrees of talent in comparison to their peers. Emily has surpassed adult composers and is still rising fast
