She's completely at home, at ease and in charge of seasoned, talented adult musicians. They defer to her at the age of eleven out of respect for her genius. Awesome is too small a word.

If my whole life were a waste and a pointless exercise, still it would have been worthwhile to have lived to see Emily. At the age of 11 she is already one of the finest pianists in the world and she's hardly started yet. If that were all she did it would be enough for a huge career and worldwide fame. But her biggest, most impressive and untouchable talent is in composition. She composes like other people breathe.

heard about Emily on NPR and had to check her music out. WOW. even seasoned musicians she's playing with are intently reading music while she's freely playing from memory/feel

What you say is so true. Anybody with an ounce of musical sense rightly looks to Emily for leadership. I'm waiting for her to pick up the baton and conduct a symphony orchestra playing her music. I don't think there would be a single musician in such a group that would not be totally focused on her musicality.

I hate child prodigies since 99.9% of the time they're super flat, untalented, can't sing, and just because they can play Fur Elise (Not a complicated song like many think) parents think their children are the next Mozart. I have to say, this girl is deserving of the word prodigy, she IS the next Mozart. She is the most amazing Piano player I have ever encountered in my lifetime. She is fundamentally better than I am and I am an above average player. I could never compete on her level. God bless you Emily Bear you are world famous and are a true child prodigy, you make children the world over cry because they only wish that they could have even .05% of your talent. I look forward to going to one of your concerts when you grow up.
@johnculley785010 жыл бұрын
If you want to see a young composer the same age as Emily who plays both the piano and violin check out Alma Deutscher. This is the charming English girl that Europeans say is their next Mozart. She writes piano pieces and short operas with small orchestras.
@tomitstube11 жыл бұрын
by jove i think she's going to make it, at some point the novelty of being a prodigy will wear off and people will ask "where's the music?". she's got the chops and is in the best hands. looking forward to many great tunes... one question... and i know it's isn't fair to put the weight of the world on emily's young shoulders, but how many kids are out there with her inherent and natural talent but are left undiscovered because of budget cuts to music in public schools? or the kid who never gets the chance to even touch a musical instrument? our priorities are way out of whack. good luck emily, you rock.
