One time I visited her house when the upstairs wasn't open (a ceiling collapse, they explained) and there was a hammer keeping her bedroom window open while the workmen were doing their thing. I loved that! The tour of her home is a must- do for all Emily lovers. I love this video so much! THANK YOU for making it!

This is a lovely excerpt. An attempt to portray Emily Dickinson's life was made by my partner Norman Worrall in his film (DVD), Becoming Emily. He used some of her poems and letters, exclusively, to tell the story of her life. Filmed in Deal and Walmer, Kent, UK, there are a few excerpts on KZbin. Type in: host1939. A DVD is available from Amazon and includes a detailed booklet.

Hello Zenpaganwarrior, Actually the title of the series comes from an Emily Dickinson poem: The Angle of a Landscape - That every time I wake - Between my Curtain and the Wall Opon an ample Crack - Like a Venetian - waiting - Accosts my open eye - Is just a Bough of Apples - Held slanting, in the Sky -

You obviously don't understand anything about Emily Dickinson, or about imaginative life. Dickinson dramatizes the pain of isolation alongside whatever elusive liberation it gives.
