The media of which he is part loves to exaggerate events , Britain has always had a problem with countries on the continent had he any knowledge of history he would know we get on well with Europe in our times . To move back, we'd need to expose the Emperor's New Clothes and have the disenfranchised right admit they've been hoodwinked - not going to happen. To move forward, we'd need a master of conflict resolution at the helm to explain the reality of compromise, and deliver a suite of policies that leaves no-one 100% satisfied. Grassroots campaigning will be needed to secure a much more progressive approach to politics that will hopefully counter the reactionary populism we’ve seen so much of lately. A shift towards a greener future will also be essential to combat the rampant unsustainable greed that defines corporations that stop at nothing to generate profit. It will be slow, hard work but unless those two objectives are front and centre then we may as well give up.

Update: JO'B's book got a mention on Ruppert Murdoch's Times Radio yesterday (21st Dec 2023). His book, this week's #2 best selling political book on Amazon, got a 5-second passing mention on a Times Radio segment on best-selling political books for Christmas. I wonder if that had anything to do with the fact that 'How They Broke Britain' includes a full chapter on Murdoch's contribution to the ongoing shambles we find ourselves in. 🤔

As a latecomer to the political debate its encouraging to here that some people are able to hold these ner do wells to account. Politicians generally in this day and age acknowledge that political office is a short term step to greater rewards outside of politics.....i truely believe that now......and i think ots across the whole political sphere. I will be buying james book and anticipating the various disclosures.
