I moved in back with my parents since april lockdown made me realise i needed to be closer to my parents because i was all alone for 1 month march-april because of lockdown in my rented accommodation. It was tough, bought on anxiety, financially struggled becasue of covid had to stay home and not get paid.. so the best thing i ever did was move into my parents.. nearly 5 months I'm here and I'm more happier than i was. Yes ofcourse coming from an asain background i lost the comfort of walking around in my comfy pjs in an empty house but it was all worth it. Plus side, my parent's been soo happy since I've moved back.

Lockdown was so isolating and lonely for me too, 23 and live alone miles away because I thought that’s what made me happy. If anything it’s made me realise I have to be closer to family and friends for my own sanity, 4 months trapped alone in a flat isn’t fun, it really took its toll on my mental health unfortunately so now I live back home 3 days a week and the rest of the week in my apartment! Whatever makes you happy🥰

I feel you, I moved home in March as I was meant to move interstate and never left. It’s hard, espically in Australia when we can’t cross the border and leave our state and see any family. Gosh I admire your resilience😅 I moved out 6 years ago and I visit my parents' home almost every week, but I absolutely hate staying more than two nights. I can get nothing done at all when I'm there, I'm constantly judged and questioned on my lifestyle choices, suddenly you have to answer to everything, you can't have a proper routine ... I mean, many people can probably do it and that's great, but for me, my creative and academic work require solitude, and I could never, absolutely never, live with more than one person in the same house, if that. 😅

After having freedom and being alone for so long moving home to your parents will be hard. There is no hiding from it. But your parents love you and your sister loves you. And that will overcome everything else! Being with family is the best thing in the world and even though you’ll have days where you may question what the hell you’ve done you’ll see your family and realise the reason why! I had to move home from uni and we can’t afford a house so 4 of us live in a 2 bed house and I live in my living room on a pull out sofa. I work full time and come home to no bedroom and a sofa to live on and it’s hard. But being so close to my family after being away from them for so long was the best thing ever. Cherish it while you can because it will be strange when you leave them again!!! xxx

Don’t think that going back home is a step back. I am in the same situation as you are, I came back home in lockdown and left my job in June thinking I was going to work in England ( I live in Spain but my mum is British) but due to everything that has changed. So, right know I am at a crossroads, looking for a job here but it is being difficult and thinking if I should stay go to England. Making decisions is difficult and going back home as well, but there is always something positive in these things. We are lucky enough to be able to have loving parents that always have our backs and we know we can go back to if we need anything. We’ll see what happens in the next months 💖

Such mixed feelings about adults moving back home. 7 years ago the company I worked for went under and the job market was awful. My parents (who I love) were like you will figure it out.
