Thanks Debby! Sketching just takes lots of practice. Try sketching something simple every day-break it down into small sections, trying to see simple lines and shapes within a subject.

When painting animals, is it easier to make details of like feathers or furrs when the paper is dry?

Yes! I usually do the final darkest details last and on dry paper.

Even Fredrick Remington sometimes hid horse's hooves in grass or dust and it's said he knew the horse. The flamingo spends so much time wading who sees their feet.
