Another awesome video - thank you! Loved "Campfire Chronicles" and the story of Wez! He may be 13 but he's got puppy-tude! We did Titus Canyon with our GMC AT4 with FWC Project M and that was exhilarating and nerve-racking at the same time. Still, exiting the gorgeous vista of Death Valley was amazing! BTW my husband says Brian with knit hat, beard, hugging his cup while smiling - he's doing his Happy Gnome Dance! 😂 Looking forward to your next adventure. Travel safe! ❤️

Hahaha! Puppy-tude for sure! 😆 Titus is a trip and nothing like we’ve ever done before. We haven’t done it in the van but the truck/FWC Fleet was fun and hope we can do it again soon! Brian does look like a total gnome with his coffee and beanie!! 😂 Maybe that’s good luck? Lol!!

Love the back story on Wez! Those spots around Death Valley are some of our favorites too. So much better than camping in the primary campgrounds in the park. Wish there were more of those options in places like Yosemite!
@AdventureOutThereКүн бұрын
We're really hoping more parks will start offering more dispersed camping options in the future. It’s cheaper for them to maintain… just not as practical to dedicate the space, but we’ll take what we can get! Glad you enjoyed the video and seeing some of your favorite spots. 😊

Hello you three, what an amazing place, I love my geology and there is so much to look at where you stayed, why is it called "Death Valley" ? It was lovely to hear about Wez and your other pets, he is definitely living life and loving it, I couldn't believe it when you said our names, unfortunately Mavis was fast asleep, she's had a busy day playing with her sister "Isza" in Pouancé then home to bark at the Cormorants that keep landing in the field without her prior permission ! I hope you all have a wonderful week and it stays warmer and drier than it is here in the Loire ! Lots of love from Mark and Mavis ! xx I still can't believe what's happened in LA, just beyond comprehension.
@AdventureOutThereКүн бұрын
Haha! Silly Mavis. She sounds like the best watch dog, friend, and companion. 😊 Death Valley is a pretty cool place and if you love geology, the different types of rocks and formations are mind blowing. Apparently it got the name in 1849 when some pioneers got stuck in the vast valley over winter. They called it Death Valley because they thought they’d all die there. All but one pioneer made it out alive, which I guess was pretty good in those days. Ugh, the fires in LA are absolutely devastating. It’s hard to comprehend how something so devastating can happen. We’re hoping for calm winds to help the firefighters this week. 🤞🏼 Thanks so much for always being here and commenting. We appreciate you! All our best!

Hi guys! Love Death Valley. My Dad used to take us out there on vacation in the summer. Badlands is so cool and I remember getting date shakes near Furnace Creek. Thanks for taking us along. I have a question for Emily specifically- I would love to know about all of your clothes, etc. that you packed into the van. What have you used? What are necessities and what did you really not need? My hubby and I are talking about trying out van life in the future, so I would love to know. Thanks! ❤☺️
@AdventureOutThere2 күн бұрын
Awe!! Those sound like great memories. 🥰 Thanks so much for sharing! To be honest, figuring out the right clothes has been the hardest part. lol. After 6-months, I think I’ve got it down, but then I’ll wish I had another sweatshirt or something. The best thing I can recommend is packing cubes. I have 5 total (1 large for pants, 1 large for tops, 1 medium for undies/bras, 1 small for socks, and 1 small for accessories - hats, gloves, etc.). I don’t know what we’d do without them. They’re the only way to stay organized in such a small space. For what I generally have, it’s: 1 pair of jeans, 1 insulated pants, 1 sweats, lots of leggings (basically live in them), couple shorts, 3 sweatshirts, 3 flannels, 7 shirts, 1 swimsuit, 1 puffy jacket, 1 parka, and 1 rain jacket. Also have a new camp poncho that I love!! Also just got a storage pillow that I can put clothes in that I don’t use very often, but that’s about it!! Works pretty good for where we’ve been up north. Now that we’re headed to the SW though might need some more warm weather clothes. 🤔 I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions I can answer! Also, thanks so much for becoming a Patreon!! That means the world to us! Always happy to DM over there and help with anything else you’re curious about. Van life is pretty incredible and hope you can get on the road soon!! All our best!

How long did it take you guys to plan for this adventure? Why the van for your adventure?
@AdventureOutThere2 күн бұрын
Ohhh! Great questions! It probably took us 1 1/2 years to plan and make sure we had everything we needed and things in order. The first thing was getting the van and outfitting it with what we thought we’d need for longterm travel. We got it in Feb 2023 and hit the road in July 2024. As for why the van, we wanted something that we could live comfortably in, was self-contained (shower, toilet, sink), had enough storage so we didn’t have “stuff” everywhere, was capable enough to go off-road, and something we could just get up and go in without having to breakdown like our Four-Wheel Camper or a trailer. That was both for weather and safety. If we need to, we can just jump in the front seat and leave anywhere, anytime. We still absolutely love our Four-Wheel Camper and will keep it for a while to do shorter trips, but it’s not something we could see ourselves living in for multiple years at a time. Setting up and breaking down camp can be a bit of a chore and we didn’t want to have to do that everyday. There’s a saying we often quote that “there’s not a single perfect rig.” There’s always pros and cons, the van was just the best choice for this journey we’re on right now. We hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions. Happy trails!

Which road was in better condition would you say? Hole in the wall vs echo canyon.
@AdventureOutThere2 күн бұрын
They’re pretty much the same right now, graded gravel throughout. Echo Canyon had a couple of deeper gravel sections, but we didn’t need our 4x4 at all. A Subaru or anything similar should be able to handle without issue. Hope that helps!

Does it get pretty windy at Hole in the Wall?
@AdventureOutThere12 сағат бұрын
It was a bit windy in the afternoon, but after the sun went down it was super calm and it was a beautiful morning. It probably varies though and have heard other people say it can get pretty windy. If you have a calm forecast though, you should be good! Hope that helps!
