I agree to disagree brother. Black people are the creators and Caucasians are thieves. They stole all elements of our culture and killed our culture and damaged our culture. Em is Legend and being a real nigga I respect his artistic direction but he's a guest. He isn't creator of anything but he's someone to do it better than others.. a very welcomed guest but still guest..

To me as a white guy, Eminem was the first rapper I could really relate to I felt. And what ended up happening after a few years is that I started listening to alot of other rappers. He opened the door of hip-hop for me. And I'm listening to alot of different rappers today, hip-hop has become my favorite genre of music. Personally I wouldnt say he is the king of hip-hop, but he has done alot for the culture. One of the things he has done is to introduce people like me to the genre, which in turn has helped alot of other rappers. I'm kinda rambling here. Loved hearing your take on it!

You are straight up a cool dude. I was disappointed when em said that and disappointed when crooked just sat there. But em really just loves to write rhymes and rap. He loves the culture the music the ogs that came before to pave the way for him to do what he loves and what he feels is the only thing he was ever good at. Racism is always there lurking on both sides..no matter how many good people want to stop it the powers that be on both sides white and black will not let it die because racism is power to each side in it's own way. It's the world we live in. I'm not saying that people should give up the fight I'm just saying we have to understand that this problem is a work in progress and not expect miracles over night. If u were there in the beginning and saw how hip hop culture and rap music was treated by whites u would all understand. If u want examples I can gladly give them to u. Look. We live in a time when so many are trying to divide us. One of the best things about music is that it brings people together. If I'm at a show and I see someone having a great time then we are together in that moment, regardless of what you look like. Flipping it the other way, a long time ago I was into metal, and Living Color came out. Their music had a great message that I could relate to. It was great to see some people who didn't look like me, from another place, getting down with what we were into. It really opened to door for a kid from a place with zero diversity to see that we are all the same. Thankfully, I joined the military later in life, and I made a diverse group of friends. We weren't all exactly the same, but that was the best part, learning that the world is a bigger place than the bubble I grew up in. I think they all felt the same way. A bunch of us are still friends decades later.

"he owns the house'. This is the bullshit that black people have to deal with. Black people invented a genre of music that existed 30+ years before em came, yet ''he owns the house".

I honestly agree. How can Lord Jamar dictate narrative when Rakim one of the OG's himself was rockin Eminem. Jay Z, Common, Nas, Snoop Dogg, are saying. We're the best and he's with us giving him respect. Snoop Dogg even said Em is black now we got him with us that's my nephew he family. Even in this interview LL Cool J riding with Em.

I just subscribed... cause I also got mad when Em said that... Vanilla Ice was a guest... Em, you aint a freakin Vanilla Ice... you’re on top with Pac, Big, Jay, Nas, Pun, Big L, Rakim, Trench, etc.... you had done way more than many of the legends, so it doesn’t make sense for you to be a guest... just because you’re white? Em even said it himself in that interview about how you don’t choose your race before you’re born... well?? That alone had Em contradict himself, and Em didnt even realize.

Em achieved so many things in his career. He is undoubtedly one of the best lyricist his flows are crazy he can talk shit and murder but also tell stories go deep and bring content. And discrediting his album sales just because he is white is BS as well. Even if a majority of sales are white people then he introduced a whole lot of new ppl to the Hip Hop culture. And through that he sparked interest in people and they maybe supported other artists as well after that. And to say that besides all this he is a “guest” in Hip Hop just because of his skin color... I mean how deranged do you have to be. Guess a lot of Basketball players are guests as well then

I dont see em as a guest too, but some people seem to be fighting what he said without really understanding the MESSAGE eminem is trying to send to white rappers and fans coming into the game. Regardless of how he sees himself, he prioritized setting an example to others, and he wants nothing but respect for the culture he loves, and thats what many stans fail to understand and probably pretend like he didn't do White America.

I agree, and your analogy is not a bad one at all - I would even extend it: once the guest starts renovating the patio, adding extra stuff to the backyard and buying new appliances, you can no longer call him a guest - he is core family now, no matter his beginning or color. Same as there are people who are family without being blood - same goes here, for the sake of analogy.

My take on it is this.. there is no debate. Some people/fans feels Eminem is a guest and some feel he isn't. And, that's ok. Theirs NO argument. And I'm one of those people who feels Eminem isn't a guest. When you know, you know and Eminem knows. And, he gave the RIGHT perspective. But I do agree with you,. CROOK had a moment to CLARIFY. But Eminem also CLARIFIED it on KAMAKZIE track called "FALL". END OF STORY..

Can anyone appreciate the way Em responded in the album? he said something like "i never claimed NOT to be a guest." thats not even an answer to LJ. he's basically just saying "Where did you hear me say I wasn't?" without addressing it. Genius.

I agree strongly. I've said this myself. Em has accomplished way too much and his impact was too strong for him just be a guest. I think he was just being humble here, he's definitely a part of family in hip hop. He may not be blood but he's family

Thanks for reacting to this. Eminem is da goat. He appeared in a time hip hop was almost disappearing and revived reinvented it. Always respecting old school culture. He is the responsable for all rappers today and in the last decades. He has got the sales, the records, the respect, the only Oscar, many prizes, worldwide based fan for generations. Here in Portugal everyone knows him, no matter the age. Super humble but I fell he is preparing something ahahahah. Sales don't make him great? How Madonna was named queen of pop, Elvis of Rock? Rock started with a black legend and Elvis is the king and nobody bothered. Michael Jordan and some others are kings of basketball, tiger woods in golf, in supposed white sports, does it make them not worth to be called kings? Wtf? Who is this Lordy Jamar? Nobody knows him. Ridiculous. And in this enterview it was all hip hop conversation, one of the best ever. Greetings from Portugal. I'm proud for witnessing Eminem career since day 1, and bless to follow him during my life time. A real living legend of my generation. I started with 2pac and Wu Tang Klan as my favorites, Jay-Z maybe too, then Eminem came and wow... Fantastic. Respect

Hip Hop was never almost disappearing when Em dropped in 99 are u serious? Eminem didn't save shit. The real motherfuckers who saved rap music in the 80's was Run DMC and LL Cool J. They saved it from dying out when people thought it was a fad. Do u give them the same respect? Of course u don't because u don't know. U don't know Lord Jamar because u are not a hip hop head. When Brand Nubian came out rap just started to become more mainstream. Brand Nubian is one of the best and most important groups of the 90's. And If u started with Pac who came out in 1991 and Wu Tang who came out in 1993 how do u know who the goat is? U missed more then a decade of hip hop on wax and the era. And u see why we call people like u culture vultures.

The thing is Jamar says that the majority of people in America are white and the rest of the world is not and that’s why Em sales so much here but facts show that Em sales more abroad than he does in America. So who’s buying it Jamar? The only English a lot of those people speak is Em’s lyrics. Come on now.
